I’m trying my best

I'm trying my best. Feeling so darn awkward with my family at times.
I know it's about just spending time together, I just feel too caught up in my mental vacuity, so darn afraid of my own blankness and wanting to offer something valuable.

Whoa there, tiger. I think many people in these mental health groups probably battle feelings of teetering self-worth…..with peers or with family. I had to look up your big word vacuity, so maybe my mental vacuity is lower than your mental vacuity. Hugs to you. Whatever it is you’re measuring and comparing against, I think you are more than enough.

One of my own therapy session shockers was when the therapist challenged me to go out and do my worst. She was pretty convinced that my relentless drive To Do My Best was part of my imposter syndrome and that openly confronting my worst might shed some light on why My Best was never good enough for me.

I took up her challenge and deliberately Doing My Worst has since grown into one of the funner tools in my psychotherapy toolbox. Turns out My Worst is mostly precocious, intuitive and highly creative. My definition of Best was downplaying important parts of myself.

Get precocious, Tight Ass. Do your worst.
