I'm hopefully starting therapy soon.
I wish I'd done it years ago though. It's probably too late for any real benefits though. Too much time has passed, experiences become limited. My cards are marked and I'll remain behind in life and won't be able to catch up no matter how hard I try.
The Weezer song, 'The World Has Turned and Left Me Here', that's how I feel and always will most likely.

your showing defeatist attitudes here and other posts...mention that to the shrink that is working for you....
What's the point of this site if I can't be honest?
you can be honest but you must know that your being defeatist in your thinking...so it is time to change those thoughts thru being told about them....it was not criticism meant to be mean or coming out in an angry tone it is hey here is what I see so be aware and talk to the people who help those with these types of issues....correct or did I step on your toes here?
Well, I'll level with you, it seemed exactly that way. Maybe I'm oversensitive but oh well! I'm willing to listen and talk providing they show empathy, I know for a fact that I wouldn't call them defeatist or negative if the roles were reversed, I'd listen to them and try to understand their point of view and why they have it, whether I agreed or not.
its your therapy and your paying for it so get the most from it that is possible and stop feeling that nothing can help you....that my friend is what we in AA call Terminal Uniqueness....we feel we are so different that nobody can help us --and those who experience that are usually those who go back to drinking after being in AA......
