i'm a dagburned poop.

good morning starshine........the earth says hello.......xo
today is delivery day for a chair.  hard as it is to admit, i bought a recliner (DEC 2011) that after only a very short time of ownership i could not operate.  my doctor told me not to get it.  being stubborn, i wanted the best budget minded choice.  i thought i can muscle my way through this.  i cannot.  It is very hard to tell you how it hurts my pride, and sigh... my wallet.  Sometimes the only way a body seems to learn is via precious life lessons.
the chair i have has a handle you pull to adjust the foot and back rest.  i can't and have not been able to operate the chair well for ........well pretty much all of last year.  laying out my vanity and pride for ya'll to see.  maybe this will teach me to PRAY MORE, use my noggin, not be so STUBBORN.......to stop being such a dagburned poop.
I have to fight really hard with the handle.  It hurts, I try again and it HURTS bigger with each consecutive try.  So I use my legs to get the footrest down - inagodadavida baby, muscle spasms in my back AND in my calf muscles.  It's a double scoop of charlie horses.  I do not have the physical strength for this chair.  Letting it go.
The power chair is being delivered today.  Plug it in, push a button, armrest goes up, seat extends back, limited butterfly spasms.  I tested the chair three different times before deciding to do this.
So now I've confessed.  Down to two options about the chair I have.  Not sure how it will go.  Bedroom can't accommodate the chair, living room can't hold two recliners. The guys could take the chair upstairs.......but I don't think they will want to wrestle the stairs & the tight turn at the top. The other option, ask them to please drop the chair off at Goodwill.  I can get a better tax break by donating it.......so why go through selling it? But will they do this??????  Hard to say.
Like I said, this is a conversation for my own little brain..........not trying to bore anyone, just trying to think it through.
I think that I am stronger & tougher than I am.........I think I am mentally.  My muscles/joints are not.  I fight to take the lid off the drink pitcher & I can't get a bottle of bleach open.  I finally gave up - bought bleach tablets.......guess what ?  Can't get that lid open either.  I'm like what........3 now?  I'm living in a child proof world with weak muscles & arthritis.
Never thought I would personally buy my own electric chair........yup, this is me trying to make a funny.  It is an electric chair........but for obvious promotional reasons "power chair" sells much better........LOL.....so it's not a lie, it's simply sans the dire results at say a state pen........
Hope you're having a good day.  Bruce had to switch Monday planting to Wednesday..........I was never so relieved in all of my life.  After he called  (at 3 pm) I put my pj's on & watched TV in bed.  Heading into a crash.........operating on the final dregs of some shoe string adrenalin.......I can feel it.  coming. for. me.  if hiding would help i would.
kitties send their love - me too........hugs!

It did scare me when you said you had your own electric chair, but I got the funny that you were implying. Some days when I can\'t do the norms - stuff everyone else does with no effort, I am glad I don\'t have some stuff in my house (guns, big knifes, rope & all).

Like you said, my brain say \"yes\" but my bod says, \"no way, Jose.\" Back in my youth they called me the \"mini forklift\" since I could hoist big bags onto the airplanes the summer I worked at the airport. These days I imagine that my 20 month old grandson can haul more than me around.

Lids also offer a completely different challenge. Thanks to some creativity I have learned how to manage most of them.

It\'s the pits having this condition. Do hope you find your new chair to your liking.

I vote for your old chair to be donated...and Good for you in finally getting your power chair...recliner. It is hard to let go of activities/things/ideas that no longer suit the body isn\'t it....but I feel that is always wiser to listen to and honor our bodies and embrace all that comes with that. Hard though,I am having to let go of some activities that I used to be able to do.
To me,..and I thought about this,...I Am Still Me despite my inability to do things/activities i used to be able to do. I am a Human Being not a Human Doing. My arthritis and creaky-ness does not define who I am,my spirit, just the body ageing...and sageing! Ha!.They have some very good products to help with opening cans and bottles out there. To help ....Enjoy your new chair Serce. Greenies for the kitties..Hugs for You Serce. xo
