I know I am guilty.

I don't report often enough.  When I'm not good, I do not want to flag spirits and when I am good, I don't want to flag spirits.  Though I must confess, others notes, with the exception of losing them, do not seem to affect me like that so I probably should write more often.
Well my bad news for the day was that I thought I was getting a bit stronger (I am now despite best resistance am on 30 mg of prednisone with the cellcept and weekly IVIG) and I was frying up turkey sausage to put in a casserole.  Popped some in my mouth to tasted and must not have chewed well enough.  I think I got it all up but sore chest and had to change my pants.  Whew, brought me to my hands and knees and I thought, I may not be able to get back up even if I do make it.  I've gotten way too lax in eating as swallowing has really been much better since mestinon.
Okay now for your laugh.  The grands have been spending most weekends with us, so I get lots of love.  This past weekend, they were happily playing in "their" bedroom after dinner and we were letting them be as they were actually nicely playing together when suddenly Gray comes out white as a sheet and announce "uh,oh!  poop!  Dragon poop!"  Well he is now potty trained and Rees was in diaper, so we were sure we would find disaster.  Laying at the foot of the bed was a green pea pod, probably stuck to Rees somewhere from dinner (She usually has food everywhere.)  He was quite impressed that I picked the dragon poop up with my hand, giggled, and announced it was all better.  Gray and his dragons.  They do naughty things sometimes, so I thought for sure I would find something awful.

Oh Debbie! I lost it over the dragon poop! Kids have such fun perspectives on life. Isnt it amazing the things a sheet can become...and a pea pod? !!

I understand the eating and and know it can get quite out of hand in an instant. Who knew sausage could be almost lethal? Have done the running to the bathroom sink to try to get up what is not going down...so know that feeling and commotion....Hugs!

Also understand the feeling of not being able to post. I went months after the trip to Arizona, Vermont and Colorado to post again. So much happened so fast and all of it was negative....Wanted to wait until I had a better perspective on it....and yet.....everyone was there to support in the end.

Enjoyed your posting....Will hope for better times with swallowing. I am sticking to certain foods more of late.....certain textures.....Not the best for my waistline but better for swallowing...

Good to hear from you again, Hugs, Marie

Stories about dragon poop are always welcome!! Love you, Debbie, be careful. Hiding sausage in a casserole when you have chewing/swallowing problems and distractions (dragons or no) may not be a real good idea either. hugs, Heimlich ones if necessary, b.

Question. Is it only dragon poop when found in unlikely places and yummy peas when on a plate? I love meals with little ones. ;)
Slow motion chewing, while boring as heck, it seems to help with me swallowing issues. Take care Deb.

Lol dragon poop!
I haven\'t been journalling for the same reasons-I\'m so up and down. But love hearing from you! More \'grand\'stories please!

I can always post about the grands. They are a never ending source of entertainment. Especially Grayson right now as he talks a lot. Rees, grunts a lot and can sign beautifully and she can say anything you tell her (good parrot) but she\'s just turned one. She is a naughty one.

Larissa,in Gray\'s eyes I don\'t think pea pods are ever appealing. If its not ice cream, candy, fruit, or a hamburger, he\'d rather not eat it. We got 4 spoons of shepherd\'s pie down him, while Rees ate and painted herself with 2 helpings and screamed for more. Mealtimes are definitely not pretty around here. Rees eats just about anything. On Mother\'s day she got into the condiments on the table and got a handful of chopped onions. We gave her some on her plate and she happily ate them.
