I keep trying.....

....to stop living in my head. It is full of colorful, fun, interesting things but it is also full of not so fun things. My fantasies keep the really hard things away. I'm not sure if that is good or not.
Today I wanted to break down and cry. Since last Thursday I have been fighting for one of my clients to get the care that he needs. it has been an on and off battle for almost 5 months. He keeps going to the emergency room ( at least twice a month) and they keep discharging him saying he is safe. It is not a safe discharge. This last time I fought hard. I pleaded, I brought documentation, I pulled every string I could, I argued with calm and reason. We made it halfway there and today I got the call. He would once again be considered a safe discharge. I wanted to cry. I did cry. I went out side and shed a few tears.
Damn.
He doesn't deserve this. He has a mild developmental disability, he is on Medicaid, he is African American. Is it a case of 3 strikes, you're out?
At the end of the day I'm alone. I have friends. Good friends. Sometimes they are single minded though. Sometimes I want someone to go to a concert with.
Sometimes I want someone to go to a movie with, have a drink with. My friends, though we have a very special bond, just don't do stuff like that. I need to meet some new people but I am afraid I will be judged and rejected. Things are safer in my head.

Thank you. It has been a rough 8 days but what\'s done is done so I need to step back and breath. Maybe do something this weekend that makes me feel good.
