I am having a giggle as this reminds me of when we had sunflowers grow due to the birdseed falling to the ground. I did consider throwing seed all over the garden this summer, just to see what happens.
So the squirrel plants the seeds and tries to dig them up at a later date but he can't remember where he hid them so now I have holes the whole length of my hourse. lol
Rich, they grow tall and fast. I saw another one about 20 years ago near one of my sheds. That too was one that grew by mistake or by an act of God..

Muji if you are on facebook they have a little sunflower chain medallion that opens up on hinges that show a place that has a saying....it is pretty...see it all time on facebook marketplace...not expensive....
Mid, they had them planted...or rather buried in front of the house, the whole length of it where I use to have flowers planted. Now I just have a few rose bushes. So when I first saw them popping through the ground, I started yanking them up, thinking they were weeds but since I wasn't sure, thought I'd let one grow a little more to see if I could identify what it was. It gets lots of rain water off the roof.
