I feel ashamed
I've been kind of anxious and moody today. I've been trying to be self responsible, keep myself occupied and doing wise things to take care but I can't always do it perfectly. At that kind of moment the emotional woe builds up. At those moments I don't know what to do with myself and the anxiety builds up an emotional wave and eventually exhausts me

i had an alanon sponsor who rather routinely gave me disparaging looks and chimed:
"on your mark
"get set
"SIT! ! !"
her contention was that when one doesn't know what to do, the best thing to do is nothing, whatsoever. not every moment in life needs to be a crowning achievement.
Sometimes we just have to accept we are doing the best we can at that moment. Keep going :)
Thanks Arfie and sunshine!
The Daylight Saving Time transition might be affecting your mood today. Sending good vibes, peace, and a hug.
Hugs, Mark. I'm sorry today has been tough. All of us have days when we feel anxious, moody, and overwhelmed. There is no shame in you being human. Beating yourself up over being unable to fight those feelings will only make you feel more anxious. Just tell yourself, "I will try again tomorrow." I hope you feel better soon!
Thanks so much Susan and Judy!
I agree with gr8...the time change can wreak havoc. I don't understand 'shame'...what I read means you are having a challenge with anxiety and that is All...shame is a word that condemns, and as I see you through your posts, you've Nothing to condemn yourself about...Absolutely Nothing!
I've no idea why, maybe because it helps me, but do you think if you did something with your hands like needle point, or knitting, or latch hook rug kit...just something to create something,,,this one is right up your ally :) and I bet Blue would Love It Too!

Why do you feel shame?
Go go go go going all the time needs a rest, otherwise the singular focus can be a sort of obsession?
I try and stay busy with things that improve well being, and for me, that includes variety. Its hard to manage when anxiety hits….so I agree that SITTING and resting is ok to include in a life of activity.
If you are stuck at a roadblock and feel shame because you can’t work out ways to navigate a different road, maybe ask someone for directions rather than try to work it out on your own. Humans gotta lean on one another. But you have to be ready to switch directions if you keep getting stuck in a moment or thought.
I get like that with creative projects, so trying some different methodology as a different route.
I don’t know if these thoughts help or not. Trying to work out why you would feel shame. Unless your journal was vague for other reasons.
Hug of support while you keep stepping.
Thanks Nikki!
Great reminder Arfie. I had the pleasure of knowing great grandfather for many years. He use to say something similar, "when you don't know what to do - do nothing"
