my therapist tries to encourage me

I have very much needed to find

a structure to my life to help me cope with being self responsible, and taking care of life

and also coping with the ups and downs and illness that I have.

I have been successful at that - I get all my work done (which is my theme song that I have learned

as a belief system as to what to prioritize)....the structure I find to help couch me in health

and preparation for coping though also makes me live life very conservatively-

My therapist was urging me to go out there and do some good things for myself

and we were talking about the structure and then I said "....and then it becomes a kind of prison."

She heard me and understood.

I don't know, I mean I know it's important to get out there and experience things again

and live life - my home life and work and cat are my world currently - and I like it! I like the feeling of being

a kind of hobbit.. I will probably go to the pub today and have a beer. It costs more than a six

pack, it's crazy! I guess all that grubby pub atmosphere is expensive! hehe

Better yet, I'll go for a walk!

 :)

Happy Saturday folks!

I can hear Arife say "be adventurous!" and I can hear Mid say "all things in balance!"

Thanks folks!!

I need to learn to overcome the anxiety of stepping out of the usual and known.

Heck, I’m going from one small world here at home, to vacation at another.

Happy Saturday! I am happy to hear you’re feeling better! I’m in the same boat of getting out there again. None of it easy, but hopefully good things to come. Hugs

Personally, I like structured flexibility. For me, it involves committing to a plan, but remaining flexible to allow for changes in timelines, exploration of different strategies (to reach my goals), shifts in direction, and spontaneous adventures. I totally get what you mean about too much structure leading to feelings of imprisonment.

Hope you enjoy your walk and your beer. : )
