I don't feel so powerless today
I went to work this morning. I wasn't feeling very stabile, or good. I kept pushing myself though.
I finally thought of the idea that working through the discomfort and being committed to what you
do...THAT is work. I felt well because I stuck with it. Didn't feel so comfortable but I felt viable if that makes sense.
I realized my mind 'goes places' when I don't have a centered sense of self..it's like I slip and my mind tries to create
and equilibrium again by going to an extreme place. I realized better stay focused on the 'work through the discomfort idea'
and my mind was quieted. I realized it's real important to keep a sense of my mental ballast if that makes sense - centered enough to work through the discomfort.
I left work and noticed how things change for me once I set back to the world outside of work. "Work through the discomfort
out here too.' The world where I get to define myself. I came back home to the Board and Care and don't feel so at the whim of the folks here at the house - the manager or the others - So, along those lines it's in my power to choose what to do with the day (as crazy as that sounds) to chose how I work through the discomfort and I don't feel so commanded by the day.
I don't feel so powerless...

sorry if that is kind of crazy. I try and capture my experience to be of value in my journals. Right now
I feel kind of down. Probably better turn off the tv and go down to the market to buy some water and stuff.
I think you do a good job at being mindful of your moods and thoughts. That's a good idea about work. Sometimes you do have to look at it as a commitment even through your discomfort. I know I do. Some days I just don't want to be at work, but push through it anyway. Hope you feel better after going to the market.
thanks becky! you are so great!!!
I can relate. Thanks for sharing. So often I learn more about myself when I read your journals.
