I did it all for love

Well, Spring is here, it's hit me in the face repeatedly as my husband and I have successfully cut all this stinking grass and tilled the front garden. The corn and beans, tomatoes and hot peppers all planted. Now I have a reason to live. Sound dramatic? Yes, it is. For many years now, at least two or three, I have felt like hired labor on this property and in this relationship. I was bought and paid for. Lord, I wish I could say I hadn't sold or given myself away pretty much most of my life. I'm not tryna live as a victim. I know I've lost some FIERCENESS over the years, but I'm just stubborn enough to stay alive. Like a pansy growing up through the concrete, I will not only rise but I will bloom.
