I can't tell if things are getting better or worse.
I am not feeling well right now. I emailed a therapist to set up an appointment, so that is good. I have also been going to my eating disorder group and have talked to some people about other things. So outwardly it looks like things are getting better. But on the inside it feels worse. In high school I used to study constantly. But now I have trouble doing any homework at all. I am not sure what I should do. I will ask the therapist when I go, but I thought I would come on here too. Do you even think the therapy will work? I know everyone thinks this, but it just feels like it is such a complicated problem. I am of course going to go through with it because it is the only choice I have left (and to be honest I am happy to go). Hmm... I don't know what the point of this was... just a little rant. ;)

The point is that you\'re not giving up, and your giving the the effort to make things better in your life....thats the point. You still have so much hope....thats the point of it.
The therapy will work if you actually do, and practice the things you learn.
Finally, the question about why you feel worse. All our lives are filled with ups and downs so that in itself is normal. When you try to resolve the issues that bring this E.D. and such on....it tends to be upsetting because the E.D. and shyness and anxiety etc are your security blanket that actually makes you feel safe in this life. When you learn different skills and find that \"YOU\" are a beautiful gift to this world and the people in it.......you will live, and love, and be that gift you were meant to bring to us.
The bottom line is this......each time you write like this, and talk and try....your getting better; so remember that always, and go and be a beautiful light to us all like you were born to do. .I think that is your destiny.
yes! therapy will work if you WANT it to. does it work quickly? in my experience.. nooo... ive been in therapy for like 6 years.. i get so friggin frusrated caz i still have this friggin ED.. however when i look back over the years i see a HUGE deal of progress.. which is prob the only thing that keeps me going.. and you absolutly right... ED are so complicated!! ive learned its not about the food or weight really... totally more too it than that.... so even though i am stll struggling i am a huge proponents of therapy... GOOD LUCK!!! :)
also wanted to point out that my therapy was pretty interrupted... i saw 2 before actually finding a good one... then i left that college so i had to find another one.. it was a long process but i have a really awesome one now.. HOWEVER with work and stuff i can only see her like once a week if that.. so i think thats one thing that keeps me from getting the best help..
