I am still a person...always was and always will be
Just because I lost your Dad that does not make me less of a person. If he were here, you sure as hell would NOT be taking me for granted. You never think of me alone at home. You're so busy with your social life, you never think that maybe I might like to spend an evening or afternoon with you, just talking. Instead, you head off to where ever, and when I call your cell, I find out you've spent hours just sitting and chatting with the baby's grandmother (who just happens to be my age too), so why am I not as interesting as she is to be a choice on your list? You don't care what I have to say. You say, "I love you" so often that it honestly starts to lose its meaning. It's just automatic. There's really no feeling behind it.I'm just a convenient babysitter when you need one.Sure, you love me, but you don't put any actions behind the words. When did it come to this point where I can't even stand you in my house any more? I just want you gone. You're an inconsiderate slob. I know you miss him, and I know that watching him die...twice, really...was very hard for you, but if you are having trouble coping...get help. Talk to me, for crying out loud.Just because I'm in pain doesn't mean that I can't see beyond it to help you through it, too. I'm still as valuable a person as I was when I was a spouse. "Widow" doesn't mean second class.
