I am so excited. I heard from the doctor
The diagnosis is the best possible. NASH. This comes from fatty liver and insulin resistance. For many it will not lead to trouble, but in my case it could soon cause cirrhosis, but he feels we've caught it in time. So---Cholesterol meds, diabetes meds, diet (cannot lose more than 2 pounds per week - like that will happen til I'm back on immunosuppressants) and dietician. I have been eating gluten-free and will continue with that though he said I did not test positive for celiac. My diarrhea has stopped!! (I know TMI)
1000 calories a week. Will be a long six months but who knows? Maybe my activity level will increase and intake will be able to increase.
Now, I just have to hear from the other doctors so that I can start taking all of their pills.
Happier,
Deb

Debbie, so pleased at the best news and that the doctor called without further prompting on your part--that just wears us down. A belated happy birthday present!
love, b.
Awesome Debbie! Only way is to continue improvement.
Hugs,
Annette
Wonderful news! 1000 cal a week? I imagine you meant per day. You do what you have to do. Hang in there.
Excellent news!
Great news!! Happy for you!!
I\'m happy to hear you have answers Deb.
Take good care. Larissa
Deb, I can\'t recommend Dr. Joel Fuhrman and his super immunity protocol any more highly. I have lost 45 lbs at 2 lbs a week while on steroids. he also has a diabetes book. If you radically change you diet you can heal that liver and get better. It has not cured my DM, but it has made it much more tolerable. My best to you, Shawna
