I am an addict

So, day three of no effexor.  I was so hopeful that yesterday would be the only day with the miserable feeling.  I hate that I am addicted to this med that a doctor gave me.  In fact, the problems I had were not from depression, but the B12 deficiency.  the anti depressant never made me better but the B12 injections do. Now,  since I have become addicted to this miserable med, I am going thru misery coming off of it.  I feel weak and think if I just take one  I will feel better and I can try again later.  I am trying to stay strong.  I am a grouchy irritable mess.  I feel like crying over nothing...My head is swimming and I just want to yell at the world.  My bowels are still very active...I guess it beats the constipation that  I usually struggle with.  On the bright side I don't feel bloated...LOL.
I know that all of the above are just symptoms from taking myself off of this drug. I know they will pass when I am free of the toxins that I was addicted to for years.  I just need to be strong and hope that my family can put up with me.  I have been walking 20 minutes a day on my treadmill, but last night I couldn't because I had to take my daughter to gymnastics and today I have to take her to the high school girls basketball game as her choir is singing the national anthem before the game.  I will miss out again tonight.  It helps me to exercise as it boosts the serotonin levels in my brain.  Today I feel so bad that I might just snap at my coworkers.  Not that they don't deserve it...LOL.  I usually just sit quietly and do my job.  I try to ignore them.  Not going to be easy right now.
Well, now this journal entry is another bitch session...I want to stop!!
On top of all the withdrawal symptoms, I feel a cold coming on too.  That can only mean bad things in the near future.  No sense dwelling...time to work and be strong!
Hope all on DS are having better days than I!

It\'s not like you volunteered to be an addict. It\'s the stupid medical community who put you in that situation. Did they wean you off slowly or throw you to the wolves? They should have given you something to help you come down gently. Isn\'t there something for that? They seem to have a pill for everything else, the jerks! Sorry, I got up on my soapbox and couldn\'t find my way down. ;)

Gentle hugs, Linda

I have been weaning off for two months now slowly. It is just now that I am trying to get off the 25 mg a day...it is HELL!

I would loan you Sadie if you were closer. She has this calming effect on everybody. Just looking at that face or grabbing those jowls and shaking her face with them makes anyone chuckle a bit. She doesn\'t mind. Just all in a day\'s work for her. As long as she gets a treat or a belly rub now and then she\'s happy. Oh to be a dog. Ahhh.

Gentle hugs, Linda and Sadie
