Hunting Easter Eggs
I was told that a good thing about getting old is that you can hide your own Easter eggs! I walk back to the freezer to get frozen waffles, turn right instead of left and stand at the laundry room door wondering what load I meant to wash. The day has pretty much gone that way already. Yesterday my son and grandson took the cover off the pool. We had begun the job the day before but did not have the grandson and therefore not enough manpower to complete the job. Last year it was an easy job because I cleaned it off before they removed it. This year my son decided we could just pull it off full of leaves and debris. He gets in a hurry. The cumulative weight of wet leaves, some water that didn't pump off, etc. Is that of a dead horse maybe.
They finally get the cover off and I can't get the pump to kick on. That too should be checked before the cover comes off. Oh well, I call the real pool people and they schedule an appointment for today. I'm dreaming about this and rember that maybe the intake is blocked, so this a.m. I'm out there checking. Nope, it was clear, so much for pool angels whispering in your dreams. The pump kicks on but does not prime. This involves filling the filter bucket with a garden hose, sealing it and flipping the switch. After 4 or 5 tries, the switch will not flip. I put a call in to the pool people telling them what is going on in case electrical is not their thing. It goes to voice mail and I hope they call before coming out at 2.
In the meantime, I decide to have some waffles and sausage and thus wind up doing laundry. As I check my email I find that I did not get confirmation of a trip I planned. I call the airline and yes I am all set but forgot to put the .com on my email address. I had just about gone nuts trying to get my flights, seating, wheelchair, etc. last night. Now I have almost 3 hours into the procedure because I am teck impaired.
I'm tired and it is just noon. Should be an interesting day.
Oh, forgot to mention that there was a dead raccoon in the pool enclosure. That took a tummy of steel to dispose of the remains. My dog gets in the area this morning while I am working on the pump, etc and she rolls on the ground where the dead coon was. So, this afternoon, she gets a bath. Hope I don't put her in the washer with the waffles.

Isn\'t it fun, all the things you now have to do yourself. For me it\'s the opposite, I have to figure out all the housework like what , where and when.
The joys of being in our position.
Best Regards, Geo
