hunkering down for the weekend
I am hunkering down here at home for the weekend.
No more spending until Thursday but I'll try and go for a walk tomorrow morning
at the Los Robles trail first thing. Then I have volunteering duties at the museum
from 1pm to 4pm.
It's supposed to be a extreme and deadly heat wave this weekend.
Really scary out here. So that's why I am hunkering down.
Trying to be careful about exposure to the heat and conserving funds so as to live
within my budget.
I'll try and use very little AC and power just to
help with the demands of the grid.
Tomorrow is my bro's birthday, so we'll celebrate in the evening.
My brother is a great guy. He's moving to Greece soon - just to try it out.
Who knows where else he may travel to and settle if he decides it's not for him.
On Sunday I will be volunteering again from 1pm to 4pm.
I'll be sure to bring a book this time.
Monday I'm not sure yet what I'll do. I am glad I'll have Monday off though.
Back to my usual schedule for me.
Things are good. I hope all's well with you guys.

Hunkering down here too.
Exploring travel plans and trying to get budgeted for something.
I saw a blurb on the news about the heat this weekend. Maybe a good reading and/or making art day!
Hola
Los Robles, like oak trees? Is it a trail with oak trees or am I being too literal because bilingual, either way it sounds cool, don’t forget to make sure to bring water with you.
Yes good weekend for art too :)
Big hugs <3
thanks guys!
i quite solidly believe that there is more than one kind of wealth in the world. financial wealth is just numbers, dirty paper and an agreed upon cultural fiction. rob from peter to give to paul and, bingo, the books are balanced. the numbers add up for this budget session. worry about the next budget session when the numbers arrive.
i value my spiritual wealth far more than my financial wealth. my fat financial portfolio robs my spiritual portfolio mightily when i let it. the love i can buy with money has the spiritual depth of a sewer system. you want me to waste my spiritual wealth on WHAT!?!?!?
way back when i had the financial portfolio of a throw-away kid, i put my focus on the community service, etc., which build that spiritual portfolio. those investments are still paying great dividends. it's often discouraging how few people get past envying my financial portfolio far enough to take note of that spiritual portfolio, but? ? ? it's easier to just give them some dirty paper and pray for their spiritual growth. healing hopes for all. no exceptions.
may your low budget activities of this day build your spiritual portfolio.
thanks arfie!
