hullooooo!

stopped here to see what day it is......saturday, huh. ok then!

hideho to you!  i'm a bed lump.  rarely out, mostly in........it started raining hard as the sun was going down......followed by gunshots.  about a dozen (a shot gun)......intermittently.  then quiet.....followed by heavier rain and milder thunder.......then rapid fire shots, a different gun altogether........wondered if it was an ak47.  that is the only name of an automatic big gun i know.......not a gun expert by any measure

yup i'm in the country....in a suburb......a small suburb.  every now and again this happens.  no i am not a fan.  it sounded so close......not like before when it sounded a few miles a way.  this sounded like it was too close.  like at the end of the street...........

who shoots guns in the pouring rain is what i'd like to know?  if this makes me an Official Old Fart.......or what is known as an OOF...then ok.  i'm an OOF.

i finished watching all the cheers episodes today.  although it has many of the same performers throughout the tone of the writing really changed.......it's more like three plays.  the first one focusing on sam & diane's unlikely romance.  the second half on bringing in rebecca and then the third play is bar focused......no one ever really seems to shine anymore......they are there, it's bar stuff, but they seem to waste the talents of a talented ensemble cast.

perhaps it's just that i preferred the earlier writers more.....that's true.  moving on.  then i watched Trouble with the Curve........Clint Eastwood stars as a crusty grouchy baseball scout who is having vision problems........problems which need medical care.....and he being a stubbron ol cuss refuses.  enter his daughter....played by Amy Adams......who has the gift to recognise talent on the ball field, but based on circumstance has been focusing 24/7 on a law partnership.

but after he dad's longtime friend (john goodman) and workmate asks her to step in to help dad she complies.......a bit reluctantly as the relationship between the two is missing the glue.......the momma who passed away when she was only six years old.

there is also a romance trying to bud between amy adam's character and justin timberlake's character.  he was a very talented pitcher who blew out his rotator cuff and is now actively pursuing a career in sports broadcasting.  but at present he is with the other characters in the beautiful carolinas scouting the first draft pick..........in very pretty country!

it was a good flick......now i'm watching a very light romantic comedy with a twist.  boy meets girl.  girl then says she is dating another boy.  first boy meets a beautiful seductive older woman in a bar......this leads to intimate encounters, but this woman tells the young man she only wants to keep it light.......and is also giving him romantic advice on this girl he met that he thinks he stands zero chance with........the relationship between the older woman and the college student ends just as abruptly as it began......

so now the boy and girl have been dating for a month plus and go to meet the girls dad.  the boy is about to graduate as an architect and dad is an architect with the firm the boy was about to interview with.  so there we are at a nice home in the country.......very pretty, big circular drive.........and we meet the dad.  things are going along fine until the wife walks in from the garden.........yupppppp.  it's the woman he had a very short term intimate affair with.

so now it's crazy........i'm betting on a very hollywood ending.....somehow this couple will get married despite all the odds.

sorry but the truth is that since i've been nowhere and done nothing i haven't any amazing life stories at present.  every day i continue to hope that today will be the day i can get outta the house, do something outside in my yard or go to the store........but it's not happened yet.

sara & derian went to new orleans this week.  derian had a conference and since it was all expenses paid sara went along too to explore this beautiful city.....i asked her to have a beignet for me........hope i spelled that right!  saw the french quarter....bourbon street and more.  derian would have been tied up during the day with seminars but they had the evenings to play........they drove there on monday, and got back home late thursday night.

mother's day was nice.......i managed to fall down......well more like fall off.  i miscalculated when i went to sit down on a wooden timber by the hiking path....fell then rolled into the forest.  nice.  embarrassing.  steak was really good, we went to longhorn's.....then to hike for awhile.  my stamina was blech. i only made it 1/2 miles before surrendering.  sara and derian went to get the car....sam sat with me, which is when i rolled around in the dirt.......sheez.

this trail was more for the serious hiker types, not the nature stroll i was craving.  since it was a winding trail with lots of roots i saw mostly ground.  i need to be on level ground......man.  reasons i still wish for WINGS!

love to all.........hugs and prayers abound from me to you!

Hey, I applaud your 1/2 mile. I think I would get about that far too. So, guns were going off. I live in the middle of a community of rednecks. So, there are guns going off all the time around here. It freaks people out. Love you.

I have a friend in the movie business who told me that there are only 10 basic movie plots. I couldn't tell you what they are, but I do remember the ten part. That's one reason I watch so many documentaries. Try You Tube for those. Tons on there, especially if you enjoy weird stuff like UFOs and alien abductions. WWII is another big subject. I'm sure there is everything, those are topics I enjoy watching. Also, there is SO much educational stuff there. Also, there is documentaryheaven.
