How low can you go? Blood sugar limbo.
Sorry I am MIA much of time yet. Just not real chipper these last few days especially. Not sure what is going on except that for some reason only known to God and my body, my blood sugars have decided to drop dangerously low.
Now, my diabetes did not really require meds until I started steroids. Not sure if the weekly Solumederol is the culprit or if I have a flu. Have had awful abdominal pain and some headache with this, too.
I was very tired on Friday, but then I was awake much of Thursday night. Didn't feel quite normal but than I don't even know what I am supposed to feel like anymore.
Saturday had runny nose and continued intermittent headache. Walked over to Shif's (next door) as she had Reesy for a few days. Felt weak and funky while there and on way home I was quite certain I would collapse before I got to house. When I got in, hands were shaking quite a lot, so I decided a blood sugar check was in order. If I remember right it was 78. I ate and vowed not to take blood sugar meds unless sugars were above 130. Which at bedtime they were.
Sunday, I still felt bedraggled and was have quite sever upper abdominal pain. Blood sugar was in 130's so I took med and ate two waffles. Had a tough time in church and when we got home, I laid down because I was "bone tired." Two hours later, Leo came home early from the farm and was suprised to find me still asleep on couch. I really did not want to wake up, but knew I had to get lunch started, as he would need to go to sleep for work. Dragged myself to kitchen and began to shake again. Blood sugar was 61! I shutter to think what would have happened if Leo would not have wakened me. I ate a fruit snack and after our noon meal of fish, potato, and corn my blood sugar was in the 200's! I checked it again before evening meal and it was down in 120's, so I ate and snacked all last evening because I was going to be alone 14 hours.
Today, I still don't feel right and that darn pain, though milder is in my upper right tummy again. Blood sugar upon waking was 132. I took no meds since yesterday morning. Just checked now and blood sugar was 122 before I ate some cherry tomatoes. Guess I will just keep testing and eating until I hear from docs. Left with wondering the cause...I guess we will take whatever cards are dealt, but I am getting a bit tired of this. Fearful of hospitalization again at Thursday's appointment, though breathing is pretty good at this point.
Pray for my poor docs as I confound them because I am "complicated" or "fragile" and pray for healing for me. Hugs to all.

I am so sorry that your blood sugars seem to be out of control. Yes, I will pray that everything levels out. Please, call your doctor, if you don\'t hear from them. Monday is very busy and sometimes they drop the ball. I hate to say it, but it\'s true. They are only human. Keep us posted as strength allows. HUG!
yeez, Debbie. This is not sounding good at all. Did you hear from the doctors?

Deb do continue to monitor and record the timing of your sugars and the meds you are taking as well as food. You are probably doing that already, but maybe something will occur to the doc, like sugar in a pill or unexpected place. Two hours after eating, sugars can get in the 200s, although 180 would be lots better :-) Too much going on! love you, b.
