How I think things should be
Sometimes I forecast a plan ahead in my day or life. Very often I will see an image to fulfill as the primary guider and not the set of relationships. Sometimes I think nearly unconsciously that I use the example of life scenarios I've seen in Hollywood pictures or TV. These examples tell me how things should be and very often I give up on my life direction for the difference in my own reality.
I have to remind myself about the relationships at hand and pump myself up to be dynamic and flexible and weather any storm along the way.
I've been thinking about how the Abbess gave me some encouragement to keep a sense of hierarchy in my mind. I interpreted it as the British standard for God, King and country.
That kind of thought just gave a better framework for dealing with a situation better and it stopped me from getting so derailed when the going got tough or bumpy.
Ok that part may seem kind of wacky but what I will say in addition to that is something less conceptual.
When I lay here in bed, getting ready to start the day, I very often start to feel sorry for myself. Not many friends call and my life is very much online. I start to think how things 'ought to be' in my life and again that kind of thought defeats me before I even get started. It's like the mountain to climb in order to change is too much.
What is inspiring now is me encouraging myself not just to think in terms of should be's (to fill a form) but rather giving myself positive self cheering along! And a realistic sense of what the relationships are in front of me so that I diagnose and treat the situation successfully!

Big hug sweetie.... I'm sorry to read that you're feeling down today..... With regards to scripts in TV or movies... They're imagination... even 'true' stories are someone's perception ya know and they keep on practicing till the director says they got it right
I know that you do the very best that you can and you are a kind and generous soul.... Another big hug... xo
thanks Janet!
About living a more offline life- maybe look into joining a local, face-to-face support group or looking more into that volunteer work you mentioned earlier. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend!
thanks very much gr8ful1!
Personally, I believe that life is more interesting than the movies. We have the ability to change the main character and edit the script any time that we want. Also, our "movies" are unique to each one of us; they aren't formulaic.
Our lives may lack the drama of a movie (and in many cases, that is a good thing!). However, I believe that in order to find true joy and peace in this life, we have to treasure the ordinary moments. For me, that includes walking in nature and hearing the Carolina wrens calling my name (they sing "Judy, Judy, Judy"), and hearing the laughter of my 15-year-old niece when we're acting totally goofy. Your ordinary moments will be unique to you, and they already exist. Maybe it's hearing Blue purr when you're watching TV together or receiving a smile from a customer or co-worker at your job.
I'd encourage you not to get too caught up in the diagnosing, and instead try to focus on the doing. I really like gr8's gentle reminder of the volunteer work. It's a wonderful opportunity for more ordinary moments that can lead to extraordinary results. Perhaps nothing feels better than helping a fellow human or furry friend. Beginning a new endeavor can feel overwhelming sometimes, so maybe start small -- one day per week. I think you'll find it helps not only others, but you. Hugs.
