how do you steady yourself?
I am remembering what Jan said to me that sometimes she likes just being with her thoughts and life.
I find that so much of my time is about managing myself - it's like I need to know what I am doing is 'ok' or 'right.'
I really wonder though if this is all I will achieve within my life - that process of steadying myself as I go from situation
to situation. I kind of think it's probably really important to learn to like myself. I have been getting to this direction more
and more - and I think for all the faults that I have - it might help to embrace some good times too, when on my own
and when I am with others. I don't know if just 'steadying' myself is all that's 'there' for me.

I suppose I could organize things that make me feel good, and like I am contributing with my time - when I have time off.
I think I might look into yoga. I kind of think I need some kind of friendly nurturing and spiritual thing to do. It just came to me that, that is what religion's about. It's a helpful thought.
The only thing harder than finding a balance is keeping a balance.
Leonard Cohen's gruff voice has been guiding me through recent self-doubts. Nothing new there. I often think of Leonard as my involuntary Pastor. I'm sure he never wanted the job, but I'm not sure I can trust a pastor who actually wants the job.

that's nice arfie! It reminds me of a Japanese tradition to repair broken pottery
by putting gold into the new cracks...because it is symbolic of the beauty of faults and
experience that changes us.

Kintsukuroi (“golden mend”) is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery using lacquer resin laced with gold or silver. As well as a nifty form of repair, kintsukuroi has a deeper philosophical significance.Apr 29, 2014
