how do you deal with life, when you want more?

i was texting a couple of friends this morning.

I just suddenly realized that instead of putting them on a pedestal,

though I love them both so much and think they have great virtues...I decided

to appreciate them in the context of that in which I was struggling.

I wanted more out of my life, and more out of our friendships (trying

to reconcile my blindness to what to do with our differences), 'the more' being like a spirtual kind of calling or connection..

and though I was trying to be satisfied with my life, indeed I "wanted more."

I thought about both of them, and I imagined they probably wanted more 'no

matter' how successful or radiantly beautiful their lives seem to be. I appreciate them and

I can here Arfie chime in saying "you're comparing!" but it's for a good

purpose today. To deal with my friends and everyone with regard to their

appetite in the race for survival or in daily life is really to appreciate the "whole person!"

Nature as well...

Likewise with myself....and I have appetite galore and at times it just doesn't

seem wise or smart to follow through with them - like eating as much as I like or

drinking alcohol or 'what have you' and so on.

But here I am, home and not working today- and I'm filling my day up

and I just wondered how you guys deal with 'the wanting more' however

that may manifest for you? And I guess there's an egotism here from me - wanting

to make the 'just right' choice - when really it's about just moving forward

one step at a time...

I can hear my therapist say "take a walk or go to a public garden" -

and that's a good idea!! :-) But I'd love to hear how this stuff manifests in you - and then

what your usual or unusual 'go to' thing is. I'm curious to know your creativity!

thanks and peace,

mark

This shit is so crazy. The things around me have not changed but how I feel about them has. So I need to just remember what I usually do when I have time or in fact just piece together some kind of activities without expectations for too much.
