How can they forget Ed?!
I don't know why I am surprised but I spent this past evening with my "mother", brother & sister in law, nephew & his girlfriend. I ave been awake now crying since 2am. It was my "mother's" 90th birthday so my brother & I took her out for dinner. I write "mother" in quotes because she has never been anything that resembles a mother to me and I have little to do with her but I felt for her 90th birthday I should make an appearance. Ken didn't go with me, not because he isn't well (although it makes a nice excuse) but because he cannot take how cruel my narcissistic "mother" can be. Tonight, I had to listen to several hours of her stating how lucky we all are that we have "long lives" in our family. Really? well, Eddie, by the way, remember him, your first grandchild? died at 37 from a heart attack!
I don't begrudge her a long life but no one, not her, not my brother, not my nephew, mentioned Ed at all! My "mother" was smiling & happy, thrilled to be the center of attention. I mentioned my son for a moment and got stares! Let's all just forget he existed!!!Well you know what! Screw you all!!
My son was a sweet, kind person who would never intentionally hurt anyone! Its not fair, its not fair, its not fair!!! What kind of a grandmother acts as if her first grandchild never existed!! I will never stop talking about Ed! He lived! He loved! He made a difference & how dare they ignore him!
I told Ken when I got home. Ken was amazed that I was surprised. As he said, "you know how they are." He is right. I do know, but I was still hurt by how little they care about Ed. No calls from ANY of them on Ed's angel date or his birthday! They don't even remember!
That's why I come here. Ed is not forgotten by you. THANK YOU!

Linda I\'m so sorry this happened to you. Yes we will always remember Ed here, and we all love you and Ed and know how wonderful both of you are. You from your notes of comfort to all of us and Ed from all that you have told us about him. God Bless you Linda. Terry
Oh Linda, I am so sorry that they hurt you like that. Some people just don\'t get it that our children are the most important part of our lives and we don\'t want them to be forgotten. I can\'t even begin to imagine how much it hurts for family to forget. Well, Ed will never be forgotten.....by many others who care so much about you. Love & Hugs, Kim
Linda, I so understand. My mom asked me just days after my son died if \"you would really want him back again the way he was?\". Twelve days after he died, she told me to quit crying and get out of her house (I was living with her) and to find another place to live. She told me that she did not want me to ruin her Christmas. So, wow, I do understand. My mom actually got up early and was banging a vacuum against my door repeatedly and Michael had been dead about a week. I have a really evil mother. She thinks she is the best one ever though LOL. We remember Ed and love you...Strength is here for us and courage beyond words. It got me through. Love, Belinda
