How are you holding up?
Are you alright? Feel the need to liven things up a little.......can we have an indoor party? Make hats to go with our safety gloves and masks.....maybe we can add mustaches or kitty whiskers or a tiger face to our masks. Wishing for warm white sand and the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Wishing for a day in the mountains next to a pretty creek......watching nature watching us. A hot tub would be nice, a warm lap pool would be great.......basically water water everywhere with the sun shining down and the earth saying hello!
Earth Day is April 22nd. Wednesday right? Today is Orthodox Easter which I must confess to knowing nothing about.
I tidied up Sparrow Cottage.......walked to the mailbox and was surprised to see an empty mailbox That's a rarity......guess even the junk mailer folks are hibernating! The junk calls have dried up for the most part as well. I was surprised when I got calls three days in a row from a car dealership I reached out to last August after my car was totalled. They must really be hurting for leads these days .... I was surprised that they were open.......most busineses like that are only open by appt only. Maybe they are.....and trying to wile away the hours calling old leads.
The rain is quiet.....the air cool and fresh. So fresh after breathing so much indoor air.......plan to sit out on the covered porch in a while, maybe read or flip through a magazine. A friend has shared a lof of magazines with me and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't looked at any of them. I have the concentration of a gnat.
It's been a strange flare........lower body temp, lots of aches and pains and tummy upset.......too many hours of sleep. I was thinking yesterday that it wasn't so bad........I got up with a couple of items in my hands.......and then stopped dead in my tracks. I was trying to hang a glass full of water on the wall handset, can you recharge a glass of water???? Sheez .yes there's more.... I had put the phone in the sink. Color me brain foggy.........it took quite a few extra seconds to realize that a glass of water will not hang up........sat down and shook my head for awhile.
I put on street clothes today if you should want to come by for a visit! Lol.......and sigh. Today I am wearing a long flowery navy blue skirt with a white sleeveless t and a navy blue sweater.......blue flats. I even put on some moisturiser and lilp gloss. Better than just running a comb through my hair and giving up! It does make me feel a little better, must mean that I am feeling a little better too, but my temp is 95.5 so maybe not ready for a dance marathon.
Last night I watched Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile. Retro but still fun.......the first movie was so much better than the sequel. They really seemed to give up on the story - felt like they were just winging it........boring! I watched another movie that was a real surprise to me. A movie called Suddenly with Frank Sinatra and Sterling Hayden. Can't believe that I'd never heard of this early 1950's classic........it's disturbing and interesting and awful and yet .......well it made me think. Worth checking out.
Feeling virtuous cause I cleaned out the frig....still doing ok on food. Still enjoying the Vanilla Bean Bundt cake I baked earlier in the week.
If you could talk to me even for just a little while I'd be mighty grateful for the company...........praying for your health and well being, to be ok during this difficult time in history. Wishing I could hug somebody besides my kitties!!!!!!!!! Yuppers I am feelin' as lonesome as a cowboy out on the prairie after days and days of riding the range. I'm ready to go to Dodge City, check into the hotel and maybe do a little shopping at the Mercantile. Take a long hot soaky bath in one of those old copper tubs, put my hair up in curls.....wear a pretty dress, stroll down the wooden sidewalk with a parasol in my hands. There is no corset in this fantasy.......don't know how those women wore those awful things! Trying to imagine doing up the buttons on those boots the ladies wore back then.....guess I should imagine that I'm a lot younger and alot more bendy........I can almost hear the strains of "Oh Those Golden Slippers" played on the ivories of the saloon as I pass by. A place that Momma would wring my neck for being so close to those saloon doors, but I miss the sounds of music and long to hear more.........
Back to 2020.......praying that you're ok!
