Hope only to be crushed again

It has been several years that I have been on daily strength and today I reach out again to all of the wonderful people on this site for support. I will provide a summarized version of the last 5 years of life..The good the bad and the ugly. November 11, 2011 my husband and I lost our son Hunter at 26 weeks of pregnancy(I lost Hunter on my birthday). It was a devastating experience and it almost destroyed my entire life, however somehow with the wonderful suport of my husband I made it through. We struggled with multiple attempts at fertility to have another child only to fail, drop me to my knees, and finally have to accept that we were probably not going to be blessed with another pregnancy. I struggled again to get up to my feet again and than I lost my father on January 11, 2013. My father had been sick for a long time, however still never easy to lose a parent. Through my grief and struggles of all of this that had occurred. My husband and I still could not get over the desire to parent a child. An ache and fire that could just not be extinguished, so we decided to pursue adoption. After 22 long months of waiting for a birthmother to choose us our moment finally arrived. We were chosen. We were elated and from the moment we got that phone call we loved that baby. Our birthmother has had a very challenging life and this would be her 11th child that she was not going to parent. She had placed two others for adoption prior. Our birthmother struggled with multiple medical issues and we did everything to assist her. She was very defient and we struggled to get her to comply with pre natal care and was under very poor control of her type I diabetes. We thought everything was going as good as could be in light of the situation. Our birthmother sent us an ultrasound picture of the baby last week and all seemed to be on target. Only 8 wks left...And pow!!!! Sucker punch right to the side of the face..Monday she texted the agency (Didn't even call to show us any respect as the adoptive family) and said - "I have had my parole moved from Texas to Louisiana. I am moving in with family. My family, friends and I will parent this child. I know I am hurting a lot of people, but I need to do what is best for me and my baby." So say we were speechless is an understatement. Confused for sure - She had placed two prior children for adoption in the state of Louisiana and this is the child that her parents and friends are willing to assist with. I just don't understand. My heart is completely broken for this unborn child. Right now I am struggling with so many emotions I just don't know how to get them all straight again. Does anyone have any good advice? My husband and I can offer a child a wonderful life. We are up with the agency again and available to another opportunity to be matched to another birthmother, however suffering through this tremendous loss and broken heart. How to I recover?

I\'m so sorry. This is terribly unfair. I am in a similar boat 3 losses and no living rainbows, we are starting to go to the adoption option. I\'m terrified that what you have described will happen. You are crushed right now and understandably. This is a devastating blow that you will have to take a day at a time and sometimes a minute at a time. Just like you have with each of your losses, they are different and have their own terrible landmines. i know you will make it through this but it\'s gonna take time and work and patience with yourself. I hope you and your husband can continue to lean on eachother. Know that I am here and I hear you, this hurt is so hard and you have support. I wish I could take this hurt away. I\'m sending you love and light to get through the dark. Hugs Lindsay
