hope is precious

hello fellow samurai warriors......
as i write those words......."hope is precious"......my eyes sting.  i am worn out.  feel like the odd shoe.  ever see those?  you're going down the road and there it is..........one run over random, flattened, dusty, dirty worn out ........all by itself shoe------- and it is always seems to be just
the
one
lone
shoe.
a lot of times it feels like that........feels like we got steamrollered until we look like tired 'ol tuckered out tortillas........our faces and limbs struggle to pop back up and rejoin the race but somehow we can't quite re-inflate ourselves.  we'd whistle for the keystone cops but we ain't got any wind to whistle.
we're whittled down to small nubs.......not much left to write with.  the wind is fierce and i have cold feets.  luckily the lone shoe self that i am has two slippers on, but my toes feel like a code blue.  gonna need to pull out my hair blower and zap myself.......fingers feel like icicles.  brrrrrrrrr, poor little hands.
i have my giant sweater on.  the one that goes to my knees, has enormous pockets.......almost  big enough to transport kitties if ever i were inclined........but so far no. never been inclined to turn my pockets into mobile kitty pouch carrier units.
ah the crazy power of the wandering mind.  sara and derian gave me a starter nest egg in care of my future computer.........what lovely thoughtfulness.  i have no clue what to buy and just thinking about changing things out stresses my wee brain..........so let's not go any further in that direction today.  table it.
it's funny ........in some ways i am learning so much and in other ways it seems that i never learn.
i was trying to share something with someone yesterday and it amazed me how that went.  do you ever feel that some people go out of their way to misinterpret what you say? i need to accept that you just can't shed light in some dark tunnels.......you have to turn it over to God and let it go.  release it into the universe and keep moving.  save yourself from unwarranted unneeded aggravation and stress........it is THEIR blind spot, THEIR outlook that may be upside down and not you at all.
i was talking to another person and we communicate so well.......the primary reason?  mutual respect and trust........with out a foundation like that or without a middle ground that agrees to remain open minded how else can we HEAR each other?
the road block i ran into was about health issues.  I know, not a big surprise huh.......!  big sigh.
i tried to explain in another way and then i thought "what are you doing dearie?"  this person can not hear you and can't really see you.  they can't cause they don't wanna........let it go.........let it go............seriously Ruth let it go.  with some people you have to remain in private mode.......remain in conversation LITE mode cause they are so well insulated into their own way of thinking that they just don't get it.  won't get it..........Dad used to say "You can lead a horse to water, but ya can't make him drink."
Some people will die of thirst before they ever consider opening their minds to something new or different.  They have already judged you and when that happens you need to give them their space.  You don't need to convince them, spend time punishing yourself cause you couldn't get through to them.  Some people have scrambled circuits, always seem to have a busy signal even when you are right in front of them.........they have a blocked road and you cannot navigate in their territory.........ya gotta let them go.
When my son dropped me home last night, he gave me the loveliest hug and said, "Mom this was a very very good day!"
That is where my concentration needs to lie.......in appreciation of what is good........to remain hopeful, "the best is yet to come."  can't remember who said it first, just so glad they did!
I hope that you have naps penciled in on your calendar this week........that you have soft cozy everything as needed in your nests........that you drink lots of liquids, eat nourishing food........take special care of the special cargo that you are..........make the most of life.........i think i might do some coloring after my nap..........a box of 96 crayons is fun!
if you have ever felt like a lone shoe, please know that you're invited to join my band of gypsies anytime.........we'll caravan, light a fire and dance!

Hi WIW, well I think you hit the nail on the head....your concentration needs to lie with those who \'get you\', like your wonderful son and others you love. Takes too much time and energy to make others understand, likely because they can\'t, like you said....Can\'t fix stupid. (That\'s my new favourite sentence).... Naps? Hmmmm. Decadent. Not a big mint fan but heading over to check out the link....

Have fun playing :)

I totally, totally get what you\'re saying about people misinterpreting what we\'re telling them. Not only about sickness. You are right! Many people are hard wired into their way of thinking and simply can\'t move past it. Don\'t want to. Just don\'t care enough...quite selfish actually.

I\'ve also learned that things on paper, typed things...like our comments, can be misunderstood because of simple lack of tone! I know that I have made some \"funny, quirky, silly\" comments (never anything offensive) to some friends here, and been QUESTIONED on \"what did you mean by that\"...making me feel horrible. Don\'t people KNOW that I wouldn\'t say something mean or insensitive. Whelp, maybe not! Everyone else, does not know me as I think they do, or should by now! SO, you are right again. Table it. Don\'t let it rent to much space in your head. My head is half empty most of the time, so the stuff in there, should be happy stuff. I worry a lot about being misunderstood with the written word. We shouldn\'t worry.

Sorry you\'re feeling like that old shoe. I know the one you mean. It\'s ok to feel that way sometimes, I guess.....we prolly all do. I spoze we should allow it on some days, and just not let ourselves build a closet full of them.

Cuz we iz actually good hearted souls.....izn\'t we???

Hi Ruth! I\'m feeling about the same way. Words get interpreted the wrong way. I was saying to my d-I-l that my fatigue starts with my eyes going dry gritty & sore. She said, yeh Michael & I get have the dry eyes too. I almost lost my balance & fell yesterday. Not sure who saw her, but hubby did. He asked if I was OK. We wants others to understand what it is that we are going through so badly. Then we get hurt when we realize they just don\'t get it. I keep asking myself the same question...why is it so important to me that they get what I\'m going through? Fear comes to mind but I think it\'s more that we don\'t want people thinking, oh she\'s just depressed! Snap out of it! Exercise get a job! They just will never understand because they are not us. Plus people don\'t want to hear the sadness. So like the shoe or loss of one shoe...we have to just put one foot in front of the other & keep on keeping on. Grab a piece of that joy no matter how small it is. Joy goes deep in our souls & keeps us semi grounded. Love & hugs

Do I ever get what you are saying! You betcha I certainly do! Sometimes when you try to get your point across so many people look at you like you are from another planet. They are so hard wired (as you say) that even if hell froze over it wouldn\'t change their way of thinking. Fortunately I have found so many good folks here on DS that can rela have, good hearts and believe in God.

As far as what illness that you may have (like CFS for instance) it seems to me that they either think you are a hypocondriac or it\'s just all in your head. There are even some doctors I get that vibe from. I have heard so many times \"you have to want to help your self\". Sure thing, ha ha! Very good post by the way.

Hello Serce, I totally get you! Between having the filter from their brain and tongues missing, the rest just don\'t take the time to listen completely to what we are trying so hard to express fully. I ran into a couple of these this last week and it was really hard not to say something back. For me it is a matter of removing myself from the \"insensitives\" and seek out those who care enough to really listen and I have that here! I can always count on it.
I spent today in the good old pj mode, may try it again tomorrow too!
Caring and praying for you! Big hugs, Connie
