Hope comes in different forms, shapes & sizes

Perhaps today is the day that I am making the decision on a soul level to give up gambling! The hardest part of this journey with the great wins and the giganomous losses was my husband, the love of my life, asking me, "Am I not enough for you my love? What do you need to fill the void that is all consuming and killing us!" There's no come backs form that until you've made the final decision yourself.
With all of the heartache, chasing and not recuping...maybe all my problems have been gift wrapped. In order to find my gift, I had to tear away at all the gift wrap. What lies here now is my light, the truth of me. I am worthy...
I am worthy of being loved, I am worthy of picking myself up, I am worthy of loving myself!  Today I am worthy.
Today I will find the strength and the odesity to face my problems head on! I will no longer be the deer caught in the headlights. I will soften my heart to embrace not only myself, but everyone around me that's also suffering, whether in silence or screaming, just by a kind word, a sincere smile, a hug, a gesture...
Help me today, God, to be a better person, to grant me the serenity to accept that which I cannot change, and to change all with the strength you have bestowed me.
Today I am grateful for being alive! Not just alive, but truly alive. I have so much love to give. Help me to be the bestest version of me there ever was! I choose to live my free of these shackles! I want to be my heroine:)

Wow, I can\'t believe how familiar that sounds...well, everything but the husband part, lol.
So often I thought that same way. I am in two 12-step programs, I also am an alcoholic (been sober 10 years in Feb), but I often thought that. I love movies, and of course we are always rooting for the hero or the heroine. I would think \"why can\'t we be the hero/heroine in our own lives?\"
I so totally agree. Whenever I think of \"going out\" or \"picking up\" I think about films in where you KNOW the protagonist just has to be strong enough to endure. I want that to be us!! Hugs, ~Estel
