Holiday with my 2 granddaughters.
Our schools close tomorrow for a 10 days holiday, before their final exams start for this year. So I decided to go and visit my mom, with my 2 granddaughters. Our summer just started, so I think the kids will enjoy themselves. Just being away from home will make a difference for them.
I'm not used to going somewhere alone, and taking the 2 girls with me will keep me busy. Lee-Ann often speaks about Colleen, and she still asks my permission to play with Colleen's toys. This behavior makes me feel so good! Almost as if little Lee-Ann understands exactly how I feel inside! She is a very precious little girl.
My other granddaughter, Abby, (almost 8 years), is going through a very hard time. Her mom's fiance can not stand Abby, and shouts at her every day. She can't do anything right, according to him. I know exactly what she (and her mom) is going through, because I had the same problem with my older daughter, Melany, and my second husband. At the moment I'm keeping contact with Abby's mom, (a very sweet young woman), and trying to encourage and help her. She also has a baby boy from her fiance, so she can't just leave. I'm also trying to form a stronger bond with Abby. I pray that things will get sorted out soon.
I don't know what this week will bring, but I do know that I will have my hands full. Because Abby is so unhappy at home, she has become a problem child, fighting against any form of discipline. Just maybe I can make a small positive difference in her life this week. I really hope so!

Andelene,
I think you will be just right for Abby. I adored my grandmother and she was \"my rock\" in a somewhat troubled childhood. You are positive and encouraging with your soths, I think YOU are just what Abby needs.
Have a wonderful time,
Leda
You can and do make a difference... Savor the time with those beautiful children and safe travels.
I believe that children\'s feelings need to be valued and listened to and I you are just what she needs, a heart with ears.
Be well and I will look forward to hearing about it upon your return.
Continued healing hugs your way and knowing how much you are missing your beautiful Colleen.
XO
Joanie
You may not feel you\'re helping Abby very much, but every bit of attention, fun, proper discipline, and hugs will go a long way in her life. Grandmothers are known for spoiling their grandkids, but also for loving discipline. Have fun and enjoy the girls because they grow up way too fast.
Hugs, Dan
I am sure you are making a positive difference in the lives of your 2 granddaughters. The most important thing kids need is love, and I know you have lots of it to give.

It is a blessing for you and your granddaughters to have such a good relationship. Abby needs you and it will be so good for you both as time goes by. Keep her close so she will be able to confide in you when she is having a hard time in life. Colleen can watch over her from heaven and send vibes of healing and peace for all of you. Love, Kathy
