Hmmm
So I wrote a journal yesterday, whining about Seasonal Affective Disorder and the impact on me, and how Finnish people are prone to depression, and I am Finnish and how I had 2 triggers yesterday that pretty much flattened me. Somehow the entry got put in to drafts and wouldn't budge.
It is okay because I said that it would pass and the despair has. It really does kick you in the gut.
We went to our exercise program this morning. We quite enjoy the group and the fact that if focuses on strength and balance. I think it is helping.
It is going to be a busy spring - as usual. I have meetings every week and to be honest, sometimes I am not sure which committee is which!
We had dreadfully cold weather a couple of days ago. A Chinook wind blew in and the temperature rose about 15 degrees over night! The snow is melting rapidly. The Aboriginal poeple named the wind Chinook - it means snow eater, and it really describes it well. Unfortunately, the winds can end as fast as they started. I doubt our winter is over.
So I am not as verbose as I was yesterday. Perhaps it is a good thing that the draft file hijacked my journal!
Lisa: I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

Yes, the depression can definitely can flatten you and kick you in the gut. I am sure glad you are feeling better today!
I have been working on balance exercises too. It is important especially as we get older. I sure feel clumsy at times, both physically and mentally at times lately.
I love that you explained Chinook. We get those here too and you are so right, snow eater describes that wind well.
I am sending lots of love to make up for all the time I could not respond due to a broken keyboard and iPad, Leda
I know what you mean with the depression. Some days I just wonder what's the point of it all but then somehow I get past it. Glad you are feeling better.
I live in South Georgia and I can't imagine that kind of cold weather. We think if it gets lower than 50 we will freeze - haha!! But we do have some hot summers - some days for weeks it gets close to 100 degrees.
Tight hugs to you and your Lisa from Nell and Jeff.
Thinking of you, I have that problem with depression, so much worse during the dark days of winter. I try to sit with my lightbox whenever I can. We have had some spring weather with temperatures reaching 16c some days and it perks me up. We change our clocks here in the UK on Mothering Sunday which is the 27th, it'll be light till 7pm then. Much love to you Lisa from me and Catherine.
I meant to say much love to you and Lisa.
love you.................
((((hugs)))) Vicki
Loving care to you and I have no doubt you will be doing all kinds of things come spring. :) You don't allow the grass to grow under your feet.
My spirits would really tank when we had inversions in Utah which came in the winter. It would be so dark and almost foggy because the pollution would get trapped in the valley with the meeting of the warm and cold air. It would sometimes go on for months and that is when I had every light on in the house. I understand what you are describing.
Hand in hand, Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
Glad that the despair has passed & you are feeling better! Love & Hugs to you & Lisa from Charlie & me, Donna
Actually, although I know that despair and depression is very debilitating, I think sometimes it's okay to lean in for a while and take time out. And then, of course, come back. So glad to hear you are back! Spring is on the way ~ Joanna x
Hi Marlene, I'm glad the worst of the depression is lifting for you. It can be truly debilitating.
Loving you and dearest Lisa, Linda
I am so thankful for the wonderful, understanding moms who understand and care.
Marlene, it is cold in FL by our standards this week is running 38 when I leave for work. I understand that depression lives in our gut and shows its head when we really don't need it. The twins have been on spring break so they have been keeping an eye on Mike as well as he on them. I feel all I do is work work work.... I hope your spring is cheery and bright
Sending warmth and sunshine your way
Penny
Can you believe, it is 83 degrees, here in Mississippi?? I have had the A/C on for weeks. Here you have the heater on one day and the next switch to air conditioning, with no break in between. Oh well, I am used to it.
Depression seems to be around the clock for me, these days. Some days are just worse than others. I am glad you found an exercise class, that you enjoy. I walk a few times a week and really need to do more.
BTY...Do we have "hug books" on this site? If so, how do we find them??
