Hip Pain
I don't know how I hurt my left hip, but it's been bugging me for over a month. I went to the ER to get it checked out because it was getting worse. I'm almost screaming in pain and they give me Motrin!! I was pissed. I have it at home and it's not working and I told him that and he gave me 1 Perccet and the Mortin. I'm sitting on a heating pad right now hoping the heat helps. I've been on a cane for a number of days now trying to walk as little as possible. I'm thinking of trying my pedal bike but I've been lazy so far.
Weigh-in date yesterday for the 5% challenge was 236. Today I'm 234. go figure. I'm on the Cloverleaf group and they are great. The goal is to try and lose 5% of your body weight in 8 weeks. I had a lot of fun doing it, and if you want to sign up here's the link: www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_i

ividual.asp?gid=67977 I hope to see you there!
By the way, Geo has been going out of his way to help me with my hip. All I have to do is call him and he helps me with everything. I know tomorrow he is going to need help- we went to Geo's dad's place today and Geo was wrestling with his little brother. Then it's my turn to help out lol. We will just sit at home and do nothing. I'm going to try and get some exercise in. I haven't been helping my 5% team by gaining a lot of weight, but I'm on new meds that should help.

It could be the sciatic nerve giving you pain. Did you get an MRI done or an x-ray? One thing, chiropractors do not help. I went to a couple and all they did was make it worse. Take it easy.
hey sorry about the hip pain. instead of the heating pad try icing it, i do that with my hip bursitis and if it doesnt get better in a couple of days go back to the dr. so glad geo is helping. many hugs and so sorry i havent been here for u, life is crazy and i am shutting down.
I got an x-ray done and they couldn't find anything.. I'm seeing my regular doctor on Thursday to get referrals to see what can be done, and hopefully a stronger pain med than Motrin. Ice and heat don't work because it is so deep in my muscles and there is a lot of fat to go through. I'm on a cane now and it helps a bit.
And Ann... Don't worry about me... if you need to talk I'm here for you. *hugs*
I hope your hip feels better. I use ice to help with my hip and back pain. I probably need a hip and one knee replacement, but I'm not ready to do that just yet. Take good care of your sweet self and hopefully your doctor will give you some decent pain pills.
