I’m starting to see that spirituality is kind of nuanced. I am a flawed priest conductor of liturgy, but I realize we each notice different things during the service. Each person may or may not speak up about what they saw and their preference for what should have been or would even have a generousness to love it all. We are all connected through the common faith (or humanity) but the nuance is also maybe an expression of compassion.
I also realized, when trying to make sure my student, Fr. Balthazar was doing well I was humbled and really wanted him to do well, I realized the same spirit was pointed at me from my co-monastics!

That's the human condition.....We all see things from different perspectives based on what we choose to see. We all see things from different angles.....different points of view and alot of that has to do with what we were taught growing up and what we learned from those around us. I think that's what you are saying....just another way to look at things which doesn't make it right and doesn't make it wrong....just another way to see it.
exactly Bob - I think some of it is biological too - what each's sensitivity is and ability etc..
i often believe --more and more-- that there is nothing nuanced about spirituality. it be words which are nuanced. when i connect on a purely spiritual level, i feel total clarity. the trouble starts when i attempt to find words for that clarity. let the nuancing and truancing begin. . .
grammar: the art of using words to invalidate the message.
words work best for things we can hold in our hands. chair. glass. table. etcetera. ya can't hold a spirit in your hands.
say it slow and let it flow - your ideas make sense - as for the nuances - it sometimes needs a nuance filtering
here at the monastery where we are all supposed to be on the same page - but for us crazy individual human
animals it all comes out as harsh criticism -
I hear you though arfie. I don't really know how to answer this because I believed like you - but it all gets different
when I start to add words to it - it just is very tricky here having a dozen and a half nuns coming at you with their ideas
of how you should be doing your job - I chock it up to the nuance of spirituality -
they each want things their way. lol
