Hey Beautiful.........!
Stop looking around........yeah YOU, I'm talking about YOU!
Sometimes on this journey we forget......we forget that we are beautiful.......
The sparkle that comes into your eyes when you smile. The heart and the heat that rises up from your soul and welcomes others into your path. The sound of your laughter........the amazing grit and determination you bring day after day. I am in awe. I am inspired. I am thunderstruck. I am motivated.
Every path, every step has challenges. Each and every one. Getting to know you has been and continues to be a privilege.
I asked, I prayed for a life support team. So important to spiritual healing. I wanted a caring, thoughtful, courageous, outrageous......lively, loyal, thinking, feeling group in my life. From every angle........I wanted to see my life begin to reflect a spirit of peace, of joy. I wanted relief and release from the constant turmoil of recent events and the confusion, the regret and the pain of hardships. I was seeking to find a way to live. Transitioning from career to 4 walls that threatened to close in on me at every opportunity. Overwhelmed by life, by illness, by an overriding sense of failure. I had let everyone and everything down in my life.......I self bullied, I was depressed every day. Those first months at home I crawled through pain and fog, some days I just curled up in the fetal position and scraped to make sense of nonsense.........I asked God for help, to take the helm. One of my beginning goals was a great life support team.
I needed this team of family, friends, practitioners, and yes strangers to be a part of a plan for hope. For positive support.......to have days where I would throw my head back and laugh at something you shared. For days where I could be of use........listening to you......praying for you, praying for better. Praying also when you shared something wonderful.......a random kindness, a thoughtful gesture............when you crossed the path of someone who made you smile that day. For the days when you felt good and for the days that you felt the roof of darkness coming down.......descending upon you with thundering madness, the isolation and the tears...........we have all shed some. Sometimes the tears are a release from pain.......other times the tears are sweet. With you, I have been able to learn, to listen, to grow, to deepen..........as my perspective has changed the past two years, I have listened more and more to that voice in my head that says," Live life more and worry less.........don't take it all so serious."
Around here, we all know serious........serious does not stop us, it does not define us. Remember that old country song, "I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden?" Life isn't perfect, but because of you I planted a rose garden this year. I tended to plant babies, I kept saying "I think I can, I think I can because of you." Don't underestimate the power of friendship, the power of prayer, the power of the impact you have had in my life. You are so beautiful.
I didn't plant it by myself, I have been learning to ask for help. Stubborn independent I can do it all by myself me, has been learning from you. I don't have to be so filled with foolish pride that I keep everyone at a distance. I can plant a garden of joy and now I have been able to literally stop and smell the roses. Life has it's thorns, but ohhhhhh, the roses. You are roses my friend. Roses.
I asked for light to come into my life.......beyond the darkened tunnel.......to replace despair with hope. To replace hurt with kindness. To become a deeper, wiser more soulful person. I am so far from done......and I weep sometimes over the darndest oddest things.......that make me happy, that provide a sense of things being right in the world........a sense of balance..........and I just want you to know........eh,eh, eh.......none of that (don't shake your head or laugh it off).......no, I'm being serious with you right now. I just want you to know that you are beautiful. I admire, appreciate and respect you. I love laughing with you and I am there when you are down, when you fall, when you feel isolated, when you feel like a volcano erupting over injustice........when you are so weary that you don't think you could possibly take one step towards that big bad word hope. I am so blessed to know you and I want to tell you so that you know how I feel. We all need to keep the circle of friendship strong.........keep holding hands........all the baby steps we take lead us closer to our goals, dreams and hopes.
Mine are small and precious.......to hold up my light and say......."This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." No one should live in darkness...........so come into the light and let me give you a big soft hug...........I'm going to try to peel an apple in one long curling ribbon. Wish me well. With love, Sparrow

Such fantastic words Sparrow !
I love coming to your journals to see what you have written that day, always written so well and with great humour but also great kindness towards others. Big soft hugs sound great to me, I am glad that I am a member of DS and found you and many others that hold me up in the times that I fall. Oh and peeling apples in one go is a sport that I also frequent.
Many hugs to you !

Beautifully written Sparrow. You are welcome!! And Thank YOU!! Lord bless us and guide us as we seek to make each other\'s days tolerable and even sprinkled with some happiness.
You have done that for me.
Ruthie you make me smile & that is a good thing! Your journals are like a ray of sunshine through a dark cloudy day. I\'m proud to call you my friend. You are beautiful...YOU yes YOU! Your kindness and care for others is warm. Not all people have that gift; but you do! You have a big heart with a warm soul that touches us all that are your friends here on DS. I\'m so thankful that the Lord directed me to this website. xo
You have been the light in my life so many times over, I am happy to know that all of us DSrs that you call friends have been that light for you also. You are one beautiful, funny, inspirational spirit and I love you for that.
Hugs, Connie
You are such an uplifting presence to me, you are beautiful too! Thank you for your light, as in brightness, and light, as in uplifting, bringing me up from my heaviness of spirit. God bless you today!
I\'m so very glad we are friends...........
