Hello darkness my old friend
You've been a part of me since time began
You've been with me each waking hour, you stay away I feel your power and I can hear you every hour
Within the sound of silence, you're in the sound of silence
And when the evening turns to grey
When darkness comes to take the sun away
You come back to me in your might, you take away the inner light
You fill my heart with dread and fright
And even though I try to say
You're not my friend will you please go away
My heart knows somewhere deep inside, I cannot run I cannot hide, I can't get off the endless ride
You rule the sound of silence, you are the sound of slience
So Mr Darkness here today
I may never understand your ways
But in your way you've kept me safe
You keep the snarling hounds at bay so in your arms I'll slip away
And when the morning comes again
I'll step into the living light my friend
But I know you that always wait, just beyond the pearly gate
with open arms to make me safe.
And so now Darkness my old friend
The sun is gone and it is night again
I'm in your court you have your say
Please do not let me drift away into the sound of silence, into the sound of silence.

I always loved that song..Your poem is excellent. Such a creative way of expressing your deep inner emotions.I feel your insecurity and despair.I can relate.Sometimes we just feel imprisoned by our mind, body ,and the cicumstances of our life.Some days we just can\'t find a light to lead us out of the darkness.However it is there.It has always been there.So is the happiness, the joy, the laughter and the love.It never left us.Our suffering just caused the door to close and block out the light. So we need to open that door wide and invite all the light and love back into our life.The law of attraction.We can practice together.I need to do this too.I have been terribly depressed lately and struggling in so many ways.So we need to go up.There is no other choice.We are spiritual warrior women.We will not be beaten.We are stronger in numbers.
We shall learn to celebrate our life with joy and laughter.
Perhaps one day we shall all meet and join hands in a beautiful circle of love and gratitude.Well stranger things have happened.Possibility could manifest as a reality . Great parody!!! I definitely understand. I agree with Di, we are warriors. But we are ill-equipped and fighting on foreign turf! Every time I have to see a doctor, I feel the darkness engulf me.
But, I\'m still looking for that \"Bridge Over Troubled Water\". It\'s out there somewhere. I refuse to give up!
