Hell of a Monday...

Was told last week by the Periodontist that 3 of my teeth are cracked and I need 3 crowns put on those teeth, to the tune of $1,800.00.

Went today, spent TWO HOURS in the dental chair with my jaw wide open, my jaw was killing me when she was done.

Turns out since it was the two last teeth, and one was a molar, they were difficult to get to and work on, so two hours with drilling to shave the teeth down, then stopping, drilling again, on and on for two hours.

Finally she finished.  Put on a temporary crown on those teeth.  Go home have dinner and the temporary crown fall off.

Now I have to go back again on Thursday for more torture, and it's not exactly around the corner either.  I hope she doesn't have to grind my teeth down some more.  I was going nuts listening to all that drilling.

This really sucks.  Repairing teeth are a damn fortune.  About two years ago I had an implant, that was over $3,000.00!!!  Can't stand this anymore, just when you think all's good, something expensive like this comes up.  Guess the teeth are getting old too.  I still have a headache and don't feel well from all work on my mouth, how depressing, what a day!

Hugs, Maria. That sounds dreadful...especially having to go back on Thursday. I'm assuming you've considered dental insurance to cover the cost? Hope you feel better soon!!

Wow, I'm sorry that you had to go through all that pain, I hate drilling!! She better fix it for free since she didn't do it right the first time and it fell out. Best of luck on Thursday!! Tat's a lot of money, I hope it's worth it!!

That's one thing I don;t have to worry about anymore, when I was in my 30's I had really bad gum disease and no ins so wound up loosing all my teeth, good teeth just were falling out but still had to get at least 7 pulled, but have full dentures now, can't eat everything like I could with real teeth but no more pain. Gum disease causes horrible pain!!

Great big hugs!!!

I hate going to dentist, my 1st temp crown fell out to. Then they did my two front teeth, permanent crowns did not fit properly. Now that was torture.

I have another one to do since last year, but have been holding off. I feel for you Maria & you're right just when you think you have some extra cash, poof it's gone. Gentle Hugs!

You poor thing. The dentist is never pleasant but 2 hours!!! That's awful. And then it falls off! No wonder you had a headache after all that drilling and trauma. Good luck for Thursday.
