Heard From Dad
My dad called twice yesterday. I did return his call. We spoke for about an hour, or shall I say he spoke for about 55 minutes. I got the other 5. He's doing fine. Paying neighbors fifty dollars to go to the store for him. Guess it works for him, making him feel powerful. I never took money though he offered many times.
I was in his neighborhood today for a doctor's appointment. Was tempted to go visit him, but remembered that you can't go home again. I think Thomas Wolfe meant more by that statement then meets the eye. I might go visit dad one day, but there's really no going back. There will never be that warm fuzzy feeling I once had for him.
