headed to the in-laws

I haven't written much, mostly because I haven't been up to much.  Just work, relaxing, and dreading the start of the fall semester.  I can't believe I am going to be teaching and that I am going to be so pregnant while I am doing so.  I teach child development, which is kind of ironic.  Teaching the stuff on prenatal development and labor should have a whole new meaning now.   Tomorrow, my hubbie and I are off to visit his family.  I am so unenthusiastic about this.  His family is nice, but they are very difficult to cope with.  They are very conservative and materialistic, which is hard to deal with, especially for the liberal, tree-hugging, vegetarian that I am.  I guess as long as we avoid politics, all is well.  The problem for me is that I visited them at Christmas last year (less than two weeks after having the miscarriage).  My mother-in-law had four miscarriages of her own and was never able to bear children (so adopted).  Despite this, she never said a word to me about the miscarriage.  She never once asked me if I was doing ok.  It was so hard -- one of the worst holidays of my life.  I felt so alone in my grief.  I guess I am still a little raw from that. . . Wish me luck in surviving! On the baby front, all seems to go well.  I am still spotting one or two days a week, but it is minor.  She is kicking a lot and quite strongly now (my hubbie can feel it).  Some days she moves so much Thus, I know she is doing well.  When we get back next week, I have the follow-up u/s to check on the placenta and bleeding.   I am looking forward to that.
