Having trouble with some items my husband bought that trigger bad memories....

Over the last 7 years I have avoided certain things in my home. Even before my husband and I lived together. Colgate.... the original blue gel is not aloud in my home. I would toss it away and replace it in his apartment. Half the time he thought his roommate took it or tossed it. If he bought a new one I'd take it back and exchange it for another brand until he just stopped buying it... He's always bought Tag or Axe body wash/deodorant.... last week he bought Speed Stick gel and I shivered at the smell of the item. I have thought about it over the last week and want to take them back to the store for a refund. Don't know if I should do it.... I'm thinking. I should just tell him I dislike the smell. Maybe he'll do it himself or ask me to take them back for him. I'm not sure. I'll stew on it some more. For now I tossed them under my couch and he's using axe deodorant since it's still a full bar.

OMG...I can\'t stand the smell Speed Stick! That, original chapstick, and original Crest toothpaste. Those items will never...ever...be allowed to be used in my home. If these items/smells trigger you....I\'d suggest telling your husband. Does he know you were abused?

No, he doesn\'t..... but, he\'s the type that would never do anything that would cause any discomfort ect. to me. Yes.... Crest original as well.... He uses Tom\'s and I use Aquafresh tooth paste.... I always do the shopping and for some reason last week he bought them. Maybe he could find the ones we had on hand or maybe he wanted a little change.... I\'m not sure. I\'m still dealing with if down the road I should sit down and talk to him about my childhood... or if I should leave it as is we are doing perfect for 7 years now... and just continue what I have already been doing... I\'m not sure. That\'s why I added myself to this website on the 2nd. Kind of tired of dealing with my past in my own head. The journaling on here seems to have helped.... It\'s not in my head or on paper for someone to find.... it\'s on here and maybe it will help in the end.... But, one week is not enough to know that 20 years are fixed and behind me... it will take some time and may be on my own at home but, I hope talking about it on here helps me.
