Hard Times
Am usually really sick until 1-3 pm, so taking a chance I won't be "too dark" with my "early" entry. Tried hard to get out every aft for one hour or so. Reading more about Pots now, explains some of the heat stroke, head exploding, fainting spells, panicky just trying to move around. The last 2 days when I got to my destination I was almost in tears, did the best I could and tried to figure out how to get back to my car.
I have not been able to,eat almost anything since mid November, Gastritis. Pain in stomach almost all day. I amdown to yogurt, berries, Ensure (vit. Milk product) and puréed soup. I like to be on the go, so I usually pack herbal tea and yogurt. When THAT gives me more pain, then I get really mad. Been thru this for yrs. not food allergies, avoid acid, on prescription, zantac, pepto bismal, ginger, slippery elm capsules, etcc.. So sick of even trying. It has to run its course , nothing helps and I am not looking for advice. Even water hurts when I get this. So tired of advice that causes the opposite for me.
The best help I've had is from a meditation CD,Jack Kornfield, re compassion for self. It is truly OUR UNIQUE PATH! No one, nothing seems to help. It is my discovery!
P.s. I have enjoyed "winter candle time" in my bedroom with my cat every evening before dinner. And I have an audio book I like, The Mitford Series, about a small town created by Jan Karon.

baby steps. I am happy that you are trying to do positive things , I was just thinking today that we see what we focus on. The many ailments, pains and inconveniences of our journey clamor for out attention and make us miserable, but if we choose to focus on the small things that bring joy into our lives, then I we can be happy. I choose joy. I wish you more happy moments.
I\'m sorry you just have to ride out your gastritis until it finally resolves itself. That must be a very difficult thing to deal with for months at a time. I\'m glad you have your cat for company while you listen to your audiobooks. I enjoy listening to audiobooks and sitting with my dogs!
Thanks so much for your comments of empathy. Sometimes I,feel like this illness has robbed me of even caring for other people. To some extent true, but most people who know me see that I do take an interest in others and at least verbally express it. Trying to take Toni Bernard\'s advice \"How ToBe Sick\" and send loving kindness to others.
I love my cat, Willow! She brings me joy...just like your kitty! I\'m glad you are making it a point to spend time with your kitty! They don\'t talk back!!
I have the gastritis thing too. I suppose I\'ve told you. I can\'t take Prilosec, Nexium or any other PPI, I just have to deal with the pain like you do. I pretty much eat the same thing, every day. Stuff that I know won\'t hurt. Even if I had the strength to get to a dinner party...I wouldn\'t be able to enjoy the food. Yet another thing this illness robs us of. GRRRRRRR! I hear ya, loud and clear.
Glad you are reading and have books that you enjoy to help you along. I have one book as far as my gastritis goes. It\'s called \"Great taste, no pain\" by Sherry Brescia. It lists all foods, in all food groups and splains which will cause an acid reaction in the belly and which will turn everything alkaline, which is what we want. I refer to it all the time. Taught me a lot about what foods to not combine! On days when my brain is working and I read it, I learn a lot!! I wish I could read books. My concentration is just so poor! I used to be an avid reader. I miss that.
Glad you journaled and vented, and shared with us the things that are on your mind. It does us good to speak out to others who actually understand.
Hang in there!!! We\'re all with ya! xoxo
Hey pouty, so sorry you are struggling with the gastro, and not eating well.I think I asked once before, have you had an endoscopy for a diagnosis? To eliminate stomach ulcers etc, or damage to valves .The fact that even water hurts you, is a worry to me.Sounds quite serious.Glad you have been doing some nurturing and peaceful things.Really pray you get better.xoxo
