Happy Saturday!
I'm happy and a little overwhelmed. We, my self and my fellow students, got our projects for class presentations last Monday, and my parner and I have been working feverishly to get it done. We spent all day yesterday at the library together to get the bulk of what was required for the power point presentation and we are meeting again today to polish it it up. During the regular semester we would have had 5 weeks; we have seven days! But it's going well. Marisol is a very fast typist, very knowledgable and experienced about the Microsoft Program, and has taught me alot. She's only 24. Our assignment is to report on the reliability and validity of the BASC-2 (Behavioral Assessment Scale for Children - 2nd edition. The maunal is as thick mas a college dictionary, it seems; filled with information, figures, tables, graphs, and instructions. It has taken some intense learning in a short time just to understand the mechanics of the test and how all its functions work. It is VERY comprehensive in the information it gives. I'm already worn out with the amount of effort we've put in the last two days, but I think it's been worth it. We'll see Monday night.
As soon as we get finished today I have to work on our second project: our personality test that we took Wednesday. We have to write a paper on that too, due next Thursday, which is also the night of our final exam. so far my grades are still A's in class, and glimpsing through the personality manual it seems I really do have many of the inportant characteristics to be a good therapist.
Unfortunately, my thoughts are on Hoops, the Virgin Islands, the beach, the water: FUN! I'm ready to go back to Cozumel and have a vacation from all this inner work and struggles for the future. I'll have to settle for going to Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels, Tx. for my vacation this year. A one day vacation. Whaaaaaaaaahhhhhh, sniff, sniff. (It's great to act and feel like a kid again!)
Have a great weekend!
