Mom, I know you did your best......thank you for putting taps on your prettiest high heels and tap dancing with me when i was little!

.......& God thank you for keeping care of my own special Mommy up in Heaven.  little ruthie

and to my Daddy up in Heaven... thank you for all the parenting you did - you covered the bases all those times when Mom couldn't be there.....

i went to get the mail. there was a postcard from usps.  it said please donate non perishable food items to hungry families in need.

p/u date saturday may 13th.

so i emptied a box of christmas clutter .....now we have a box.

i went into the kitchen, rolled the rolling chair nice & close -- got busy.

filled a laundry basket with donatable items.  why?  i don't have a clue, cause all this means is that now i have to move the items into the BOX........slow brain sydrome.

i struggle to lift the filled carton......tape the postcard to the top, write a friendly thank you note to the mailperson......& decide the only way i can do this on my own is to put the carton on my rolling chair.  take it over the step down in the doorway.....through the garage, down the driveway........where it wriggled and tried to make a break for the front yard.

as i'm maneuvering the chair the afternoon school bus is going by......the driver waves.......the kids wave......so i have to stop and be a friendly waver.....the chair scoots onto the yard.  take a deep breath.....get it back onto the concrete and make it to the bottom.

does the feel good of making a contribution out weigh what i just did to my discombobulated body.......i think about this as i push a much lighter chair back up the driveway.  it was hard, but i remember several years when i couldn't manage that driveway on foot at all..........i'm a hot mess.  but i feel grateful to be a part of my community......to try and help a little.......

What a lovely tribute to your mom. Mine is still alive. We have to cherish them while we can. I got the most lovely scrapbook from Journey. She has worked on it all year. It was really beautiful. Love you.

Oh you sweet kind honey soul. ! That's just one of the many things that I love about you Ruthie. Good job making it down the driveway and back. A young guy around 30 just won the lotto here and he is planning on feeding lots of hungry people with his money. He said that before he won he was fed up with being hungry all the time himself. It's mother's day here tomorrow, but I've made a point with my children not to bother about it. We love each other every day. I miss my mother so much. She has been gone for seven yrs in July. Life is just not the same after we lose our loved ones. We adapt because we have to, but the pain of separation remains. That's a nice memory you have of tap dancing with your mum. Love to you my friend.xoxoxo

Ruthie, my mail carrier left a plastic shopping bag in my mailbox the other day informing me of the collection tomorrow so I stopped at the store on my way home yesterday from a medical appt & got some stuff which I put in my mailbox when I came home from another medical appt today. This is the 3rd or 4th year in a row that I have taken part in it.

Happy Mother's Day Ruthie! What a nice thing you did. Someone will appreciate it.
Enjoying my time with my sisters & family. Not use to the chilly temps. My body doesn't like it. I've been in allot of pain. Still dealing with the soaking night sweats and sleeping little. Much love & prayers❤️
