Happy Labor Day
Good morning everyone,
Can you believe its Labor Day already. This year has flown by. It is raining in NC. Not too hard yet, the weather is calling for heavy rain at some point. It has not crossed the Smokey Mountains as of yet. I feel so sorry for the folks up north, Vermont was damaged so badly. Such pretty country on the news. I have never traveled up that way. I saw on the news one of covered bridges just tumbled down in the water. So sad. Mother nature can surely give us a reality check!
We had a busy weekend for charity. Our car club is raising money for our children's Christmas project. We plan on buying a lot of toys to donate to the needy. We made almost $900.00 for them. It gives a good feeling to help others. We gave almost $4,000.00 to Relay For Life this spring. It's a good way for the guys to show their cars and raise money at the same time. (I tell them it just for bragging rites) LOL . We have a good club and all get along. Mostly older members who have waited a long time to get them. We are mostly mustangs but have a lot of the classic older cars too. This club has been a life saver for Steve. It gives him something to do and look forward to and keeps his mind busy. Plus we have made so many good friends. One couple in particular that we spend a great deal of time with.
Over the years we have had many friends that we cared about and were blessed with. Isn't it funny how you drift away from some friends and move on? Life is like that, ever changing. Some for the good and some (like the cancer that invaded our lives) not too good. In fact awful!
If any of you want to see Steve he is on keeterford.com and click on the labor day car show. He is the one doing 0-60 in a P51 Roush. That made his day. There is a good picture of him beside our car.
One thing that does not change is our faith. We know that we are blessed and thank God every day for that. So many have suffered and lost their battle and we remember them! Many of our good friends are gone too. (my font disapeared again, boo)
Please remember D and Meriel. He is very sick and she loves him so much. Again, some wonderful friends.
I pray also for those who have lost their loved ones this year and the years past. Life can be so hard. God bless us all.

Wanda great journal. Love classic cars. Have a friend here who goes to all the old car cruises, he says that they are a great group of people. I hope that your weather improves, it has been raining here for two days. I have to much to do outside. Have a great Labor day you two. Hugs Jane
OK Wanda! I already knew I loved you guys but I just checked out the Keeter Ford facebook and boy I REALLY love you guys now!!! Love the car. The Mustang is my dream. I had one in high school and Dan sold it without even asking me! I never forgave him for that and have wanted one since. James shares the dream too and we came soooo close to buying one a few weeks ago. We had the paperwork started and all - a beautiful black GT. BUT we thought about it and decided we didn\'t want the extra financial burden. I also have a son who is a new car salesman for Chevy so was feeling guilty for thinking of buying from someone else. So we got a new Malibu. But I am drooling over your Mustang! I am jealous!

Love your journal, as soon as I am done here I am going to the website you listed..there\'s a place near me that has car shows every Friday night...they place the 50\' and 60\'s music and it really brings you back in time. My best friend in high school had a 65 mustag convertible..and after I graduated from high school my Dad let me buy his car when he was getting a new one and it was a 64 chevy impala convertible...loved that car! Boy was I cool crusing around it it! Hope you are Steve are well..Hugs and Love, Ellen

It is fun to hear about you, Steve and your car activities. I\'m so glad you both are being as active as you can. Enjoying life is so important. Thank you for thinking of so many good friends hurting here at DS. I feel like I am one of them right now...still having some struggles as I approach the 1 year date...but, I push forward. Wanda, sounds like a great weekend with friends, doing something to make a difference. Life is ever changing, sometimes it\'s hard to keep up. Thankful too, for my many blessings and provision from God, for myself and my family. Tried to find Steve on the website, but couldn\'t.

Wanda, it sounds like a great weekend and a lot of fun. Will look at the website shortly. I love the older cars, too- far more individual than today\'s.As Annette so rightly says, you are indeed a blessing to all of us.
