HAPPY BIRTHDAY,,, yes ,,it is my birthday
When I turned thirteen, my father turned to me and said,,son,, today you are a man....having turned the ripe age of 63,,, today I have turned becomes something of an eccentric old bastard ,,I guess it beats the alternative ,,,,I am have a small glass of iced sherry,,to celebrate ,,,though I should not ,,,I am doing it anyway,,,
This past year has been one for the books,,,and in truth I cannot say it has been all that horrible ,,I continue with my physical ups and downs,,nothing that I have not been able to handle,,,,,a lot of gas and a lot of anxiety,,some chest pains, heart burn,,,pains here and there,,a shitload of medications for my hypertension and cholesterol control,,,
Made some friends, lost some friends ,,I guess it balances out at some point ,,,,,hmmm ..seems since this is a journal ,,it would be right to log things that I can recollect from the past year ,,,So here goes:
got a new cat (Dante, who still does not use the litterbox)
still continue on the U/C,,for the time being anyway...
bought an awful lot of movies,,,more than I should really have ,,,
been going to AA meetings at the Lutheran,,met a bunch of interesting people there ,,,some friends made and apparently lost
got a flu shot this year
been going to the dentist ,,,ongoing now
joined the YMCA ,,though do not go as much as I should ,,
began doing a onc time a week class at the Broward Outreach Center ,,has been going pretty well
Learned how to download torrents,,,,
Had some electrical work done ,,changed the lighting in the back bathroom,,,
Fixed the roof leak (finally)
Made some new online friends..they know who they are..
actual employment offer is still elusive,,,not sweating it ,,
Did a lot of shopping at the Goodwill since they opened the Goodwill Superstore on Taft St.
Taft St. Diner/Restaurant closed and is now a 7-11 store ..
Truck is still in very good shape w/ 76k miles
Bought 5k shares of Medical Marijuana Inc stock at 10 cents a share ,,one of the stranger things I have done this year ,,
Continue attending the drop-in center about 1 time a wk now after the class at BOC
Bought a swamp cooler earlier this year and also a motorized massage mat ,,
Have taken up baking breads, muffins, this year ,,using a breadbaking machine to mix with,,,
Down to about $500 with Memorial Hospital billing ,,
West Broward Club moved again ,,this time far out in West Sunrise Blvd,,to far for me ,,
Relationship with Caryn has fallen away,,since her orientation conversion,,
Trip to Boca for Thanksgiving with Billy and the family etc,,
Continue to have intermittent trouble sleeping at night ,,
thats all from what I can generally recollect right now ,,,

A man at 13, ha, my guy age 14 still plays with his star wars toys,..then again so do grown men. Well I think you r doing great for 64! Whats the cats beef with the litter box? He\'s lucky u r being patient, my mother wd not hv tolerated that. I hope ur glass of sherry was Delish. Again, happy birthday, pleased to be considered a friend.
