Happy Birthday Lisa

It is 39 years since Lisa arrived on this earth.  She was the light of my life.  She always did things her way.  She crawled up the basement stairs at 6 months old and took her first steps at 7 months.  She taught herself to ride her brother's bike when she was 4 or 5.
Lisa had a rocky time during her teens and tried more jobs than I can remember.  She excelled at all of them but as soon as she got used to them, she got bored and was on to the next thing.  She attended 2 colleges and a university and got the equivalent of a degree without the piece of paper.
Her greatest achievement according to her was her daughter.  Cevyn was born with hyaline membrane and had a tough start.  Lisa was a phenomenal mom.  She never left her until she was home and healthy. Lisa was involved at school and variety of activities.  And she threw the best birthday parties.  All the kids wanted an invitation.  In the 13 years she was a mom, I never heard her raise her voice once.
Lisa was a great mom and friend.  All who knew her have a story about Lisa's empathy, caring and sense of humour.  Lisa's last job was as a scheduler at the neighbourhood hospital.  She was the one who got everyone laughing with her antics.  She wore a tiara (high end from the Dollar Store).  She was involved in the social committee and got everyone doing the zoomba - wearing a tutu and pony tails.  But for all her shenanigans, she was the best scheduler the hospital ever had.  She managed all that with chronic illness.  She was exhaused and in pain a lot of the time but nobody at work knew.
Today, a candle is burning beside her favorite flowers - gerbera daisies.
Happy Birthday Lisa.  I miss you always and love you forever.

Happy Birthday, Lisa, and to you, her precious mom! It feels as if she just had so many passions that to stay in one for long just wasn\'t part of her adventure. :) I know that you are missing these unique and beautiful qualitites that make Lisa who she continues to be. If we can just take a few of our children\'s personality traits and gifts that we love the most and pay them forward what more gentle world this will be. You are doing that my friend... Lots of love on this very special day. XO Joanie
