Happy Birthday Babe
Happy Birthday babe. I remember texting you dead on midnight last year to wish my gorgeous boyfriend a good birthday so here's my one for you this year. I hope you have a lovely day up there and teach them all to party in style like i know you can.
I hate that you're not here so I can celebrate it with you. You know I'd have been winding you up for weeks already that you were going to be closer to 30 than you were to 20. I remember last year winding you up you were a quarter of a century old,you kept telling me to piss off lol. I just wish I could spoil you again like last year, you were like a big kid leading up to your birthday, we were going out for lunch that afternoon with your family so you told me to come round early so you could open your pressies before we went out, you opened the door and had the biggest smile on your face ever and I gave you a massive hug and kiss and wished you happy birthday. You'd already ruined one surprise and worked out I was taking you the Liverpool game that night but you had no idea what else you had. You opened up your kilt towel I got you first, you were laughing your head off over it and were prancing round the room with it on over your pants, I told ya I'd get you in a kilt after Scotland didn't I haha? Then you opened up your bracelet and you were made up and made me put it on for you. Then it was the present I made you save til last, it was in the shape of a DVD and you said I think I already know what this is, Its Skyfall on DVD isn't it? Why the hell would I make you keep a James Bond film to open last like it was something special lol? You opened it up and it wasn't Skyfall on DVD, it was the Lion King, you were like aww thanks babe I love this film but you looked a bit baffled. I told you to open the box and you asked why, I said just bloody do it will you and you opened it up and the biggest grin ever spread across your face as you pulled out the Lion King show ticket. It wasn't until April like but you were made up with it. You gave me a huge hug and kiss and said you felt very special. You were so special to me babe, you really were and I'm just glad I could make you feel it.
We went out for lunch with your family and had a lovely meal with them all and had such a laugh. It was great being there with all off them. After lunch I popped home to layer myself up ready for the Liverpool game. When I got back to yours you laughed your head off at how many layers I had on. It was bloody freezing though and you knew I didn't do the cold, I had to come prepared. We chilled in yours for a bit then you gave me one of your scarves and we headed over to Liverpool for some tea before the game. I'd booked us into Jamie Carragher's restaurant and we had a lovely meal in there although we almost ended up falling out over the bill haha. I told you it was your birthday meal so I was paying but you would not have it and said you'd been spoiled enough so you weren't letting me pay, after a lot of bickering we finally came to the agreement of splitting it down the middle. Once we'd stuffed our faces we headed to Anfield for the Europa League game against Zenit St Petersburg, we got there and the atmosphere was booming before te game even kicked off. You kept laughing at how all the Russian fans kept jumping up together and chanting, you decided coz it was cold in Russia that's what they must do when watching the football to keep warm, it did make a lot of sense, well in our heads anyway haha. We were already 2-0 down from the game the week before so we knew we needed at least 2 goals to get us through. They got the first goal about 20 minutes in, we were both gutted, the dreaded away goal. that meant we needed 3 but you were like its okay babe, we'll get back in it. Not long later Suarez got the equaliser for us and then just before half time someone got the 2nd goal for us, I can't for the life of me remember who. We knew we were back in it now and had a chance so the 2nd half was bound to be a good one. I think it must have been about 10 mins into the second half when Suarez got another goal for us, you turned round cheering your head off and picked me up and gave me the biggest bear hug ever, I thought you were gonna suffocate me you hugged me that tight haha. 'We gonna get this' you kept saying. We just needed one more goal to get through, we had so many chances but it just wasn't meant to be and we got knocked out on that stupid away goal rule!! I wasn't happy, I was convinced I'd ruined your birthday by taking you to watch us get beat, you told me not to be daft, you'd had the best birthday ever and you got to go home with me which made it perfect. You also told me I was still you’re lucky charm as everytime we went to Anfield we won, I said we've just knocked out but you were like yer but we won the actual game 3-1 didn't we so you're still lucky! I loved your logic haha.
Once we came out the stadium it was absolutely freezing, trust you to have a birthday on one of the coldest days of the year haha. even you complained you were cold so I knew something was seriously wrong, I was honestly worried about you, you were never cold! You always laughed at me and would say 'Its not that cold babe'.That's the only night you ever agreed with me it was freezing! We finally flagged down a taxi after walking wat felt like half way home and it was some mad Jamaican fella, we couldn't understand a word he said he spoke so fast and just kept laughing so we just kept laughing with him so we didn't look rude. I was made up when we finally got back to yours and in the warm, we both cuddled up in bed and I don't think we moved from each others side all night coz we were still trying to warm up. All you kept saying was thank you, in the end I had to tell you to shut up and stop it, you didn't have to thank me, I was just glad I could spend your birthday with you and spoil you for a change. I just wish I could do the same this year, I'd have had to have done something extra special for you after what you did for me for my birthday, you made it absolutely perfect and I was already starting to panic about how I could top that, it breaks my heart I can't even try to top it for you. I should have had years of birthdays to celebrate with you, instead I just got the one but I'll never forget it and I just hope I made that birthday as special as you made my last birthday.
