Happy Barthlome day!

Today is Columbus day in the US, but it should be Barthalome day (sp?). He also went to the "new world" and had a big plantation with native slaves. He realized his wrongs, though, and released his slaves. Unlike Columbus, who sold slaves all over Europe and started the African slave trade. He also passed out smallpox infested blankets to the natives and killed millions with disease. We should not be celebrating such a horrible man.
Ok, enough with the semi-educational stuff (which may or may not be true). Today I woke up at 11:30 am when my FitBit alarm went off. I thought about going back to sleep, but it said I had had over 12 hours of sleep so I got up. I had my coffee and didn't even feel the need to nap. I might be a bit hypomanic, but I will take a sleep klonopin tonight to make sure I get to sleep on time. I know I'm going to be up and down all night, going to the bathroom since I just drank half a gallon of Crystal Light. At least I know my body is washed out. I weighed in at 227.4 today... as low as I have been in a while. Hopefully I will lose weight again today... I'm low on my calories and not even hungry. I have bagels if I need to eat something. I used to be  hungry after 1 regular bagel, now all I need is a mini bagel with some peanut butter for breakfast. I get the whole wheat kind, which I prefer to the plain.
Tomorrow Geo and I are supposed to go see "Gravity". I don't know how the plot is going to be. Most of the time I can guess the ending even before I see the movie, but this one intrigues me. I hope it's a good movie. I have heard decent things about it, but not much since I don't follow Hollywood news. Anyway, I'm going to go lie down so hopefully I can be asleep by 10:30.

Interesting little thing about Columbus Day..... I didnt do so great in History call back in high school mostly due to my lack of interest in all school stuff wow do i regret that now!
Sounds like that fitbit is very useful. I still want to save up to buy one but it seems everytime i think im going to be able to put alittle away to save... something happens.... guess thats just part of having teenagers and grandkids lol Christmas is coming and my aunt always asks me what i would like and i never know what to tell her so i think i will ask her for one of those prepaid debt cards with what she plans on for a gift and i will start that as my saving towards a fitbit.... usually she spends between 50 and 60 on a gift so i will have a good start on saving for my own fitbit.
Hope you and Geo enjoy the movie you are going to see :)

12 hours is a LOT of sleep. didn\'t know any of that stuff about columbus! i did know that the french were here before him, made treaties with the indians, lived in peace and nothing went wrong. so why didn\'t everyone else act like that? grrrrr. my second husband, who is french descent, would go on about that though

12 hours of sleep is a LOT of sleep. do you sleep straight through like that? xxoo

found this: didn\'t even know this,

Leif Ericson
Around the year 982 Eric the Red sailed to Iceland. He landed on the coast of Greenland. He founded the first colony there. His son named Leif Ericson began exploring the area. He reached the North American mainland around the year 1000 and called it Vinland.

Later archaeologists uncovered the remains of his settlement at the extreme northern tip of Newfoundland. In 1965 a map dated from around 1440 was found. This Viking map showed parts of northeastern Canada.
