happy 4th ya'll!
it just rained...........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. peace.
after delving into some of my books (on my conditions/meds/nutrition) i'm thinking that i need to make some revisions. less carbs/less sugar......slowly up my daily exercise program again. actually i'm thinking about cutting carbs and sugar altogether for two weeks initially.......i've been sleeping so much and doing so little that perhaps the only way to find my way back to some pockets of energy is through these kinds of changes.
if i were more active i could sustain more carbs here and there, but because of the rough flares this year, my thinking is that i'm too wonky to be able to tolerate them at all. i also notice problems eating yogurt this year, my CFS symptoms ramp up really quickly..........ears/nose/throat HURT, Glands Swell. Fruit also makes me very draggy......i'm out of whack. protein helps me become more alert.......trying to read the signs......and do something about it.
can i go to chronic illness kid camp for the summer? swim every day? get a massage daily? eat organic food and feel the love????????
happy 4th ya'll!
p.s. thanks for all the wonderful comments and hugs, xoxoxoxoxo love ya right back!

I think you are onto something. I know when I changed my diet everything changed for me for the better and also walking and doing yoga even in small amounts was like a miracle. I hear this from lots of people. You need to tailor a diet this to your body needs. But these changes can for many people make managing this illness much more bareable. And allow to be in life more. Low glycemic foods, less cartbs , no refined sugar and lots of veggies help me.
Good luck!
Hmm....don\'t be too hard on yourself.
I think it is good to note what isn\'t good for you and avoid it, but, is there any treat that you love and that is good for you that you could stock up on???
We all need our treats, and something to look forward to.
I agree that swimming is a good exercise for anyone with chronic fatigue, because it is gentle and cooling.
If Alex goes to school, I intend to go swimming maybe a couple of times a week. He hates water, so I can\'t really go now.
Sometimes, I like the rain too, but we have had way too much of it here in the south of England lately. Have you noticed how great everything smells when it rains after the sunshine, and there is clear refreshed air?!!!
Happy 4 July. Have a great holiday! Love Ellie xxx
And A Happy Fourth to you and the kitties and your family!

I have a little book by Kim McMillen called \"When I Loved Myself Enough\".
One page in it quotes -
\"When I loved myself enough... I began listening to the wisdom of my body. It speaks so clearly through its fatigue, sesitivities, aversions and hungers\".
:)
First off I am very jealous that you got rain. Don\'t get me wrong, I am happy for you I just wish we would get some. It has been weeks. The grass is brown, no mowing at least. Carbos can drag you done. They give you that quick lift and then bam you are down. When I eat to many carbs and I feel weak I have a peanut butter spoon, works everytime. Kind of jerks you back to reality, know what I mean. On the other hand we can\'t go cold turkey or we are definitely setting ourselves up for failure. So go slowly and give yourself a treat. There are good carbs too. Peaches , bananas , grapes, oh heck all fruit is good carbs. I love yogurt but like you said I feel a little weird after eating it. Kind of like a upset stomach. Maybe getting lactose intolerance in our old age...Oh speak for myself..sorry. Well your plan sounds great. Don\'t be to hard on yourself, take it slow. Good luck and I hope you had a good 4th...Oh yah you got rain so it was good. Naomi xo
Hope you had a great Fourth, Sparrow. A day where you learn bunches of stuff that will be helpful to your health, like your diet....is a day, well well spent.
Good on you. I completely dropped dairy. Did wonders for me!! xoxo
