Had to be a grown up today! YUCK!!
Today I had to be a grown up. Had to go to speak with a fiancial expert about how to invest what little life insurance I did receive. I asked my Father to go with me because he has to be the smartest business man I have ever met. It was difficult to sit there with a check that I knew was suppose to represent Jeff and his worth. I know I am extremely lucky that he had the forthought to even have life insurance. I am blessed that I can have enough to pay some bills and still invest so that I have some kind of a nest egg. But, several times, I teared up as the young banker was trying to explain bonds vs international and national stocks and investments. I didn't want to be there. I wanted to tell him he could keep the money if he'd just get Jeff back for me.
Today, I hated being a grown up!

I know that feeling, we should have more time to grieve before we have to face the financial part of our new lives. So glad your Dad could be there for you. The money doesn\'t mean much without them, but unfortunatly it is necessary. Your in my thoughts. Patsye
After all the estate issues are resolved, there isn\'t any amount that can replace them. Hang in there. What happened to the carefree kids we used to be. Sigh... Hugs, Kip.
I think we have sadness but alot of guilt feelings about getting money at the expense of our spouse. My husband use to say I\'m worth more dead than alive. Thats pretty sad that he felt that way. He was worth everything!
I had the same reaction... I hated going to the bank ... I hated when I received the checks... I hated when I \"profited\" off of my husbands death... I hated having to keep it together and not try to make all of the people around me uncomfortable... I REALLY hated being the grown-up... I wanted Bri to be there and take care of things for me - the way he always did before... This new reality really sucks!!! I hope that we can all find a way to get past the painful, uncomfortable, YUCKY parts of this death business and find a way to come to terms with everything that is happening!!! Hugs to you!!!
The commerical keeps running in my head \"I don\'t want to grow up, I\'m a ToysRus kid\" Wish I could go back and be that kid again.
As soon as I found out what I was getting from my husband\'s employer, I told my sister, I didn\'t want it, I wanted him back. It sucks big time to be us.
