Guardian Angels
Hi Fred: I have had this thought now ever since Nick became so ill. It's time to share it with you since you are my personal journal.
I do not believe in the typical guardian angel... wings, halos with the desire & power to protect you. Too many things that were dear to me have been taken away even though I expressed sincere daily gratitude. After too many losses I just gave up any faith in guardian angels. I concluded they either did not exist. But if they did & I had one I must have been given a very lazy one.
When Nick's cancer returned, which resulted in his death, I finally learned a truth about guardian angles. They really do exist!! No, I did not see wings, halos or any miracles. Guardian Angles turned out to be our close friends and family. Guardian angels are the people who comfort you the best they can. They help you with household chores and repairs that you can't manage on your own. They drop by to see how you are or to invite you to go on a walk or invite you to dinner. They make sure you are not alone during holidays. They listen when your heart breaks and hold you when you cry.
These people really are guardian angels. They cannot take your pain away or bring your loved one back to you. But by their help, caring and love they do help you make it through another day or even through the next hour.
I give thinks to all of the guardian angels that are helping me.
