Grief Tears

Now I find myself crying more..The Autorama is going on in Detroit..Something Rick liked to go to..Last year he couldn't because he was to weak...Now it's on TV ..people I know are talking about going...The Detroit Tiger and the Red Wings were his favorite sport teams...I keep thinking about what he is missing...Do other people feel like this..It's not about me it's about him...My poor husband suffered and I was in a daze..He loved country music...I had the song played at his funeral..When I get to where I'm going...by Brad Paisley...Will I ever feel joy again?

Yes..it will start out small..a smile here and there. Guilt followed ...a few more smiles..one day youll have just a few seconds of joy...followed by more guilt.

When I say guilt, I mean the guilt of knowing that you are smiling and your husband's not here anymore to smile with you. I will say your husband wants you to smile!!

As time goes on you'll stop living in his memory, doing the things that you think he would want to do period then one day sometime down the road, you will find it's your turn to have a little bit of happiness. Your husband would want what you would want for him if you had passed. Just take it one minute, one hour, one week at a time. I'm at 3 years, and still have those days. Nothing will ever be the same again, you'll have to create a new you're kind of normal. Much love, hugs and blessings Carla

I think that all the time. How do I go boating/fishing/camping this summer knowing Glenda loved it and won't be able to join me and the adult kids. In our new home that she picked out and only lived in a month and now won't be able to decorate it and furnish it which she also loved to do.

Thanks for responding Carla..I hope in time I can...Rick51 .I know that this has to be so hard on you with the house..I have no advice..just a understanding of the emotional toll on us who have lost the love of our life....I feel empathy for those going thru grief...I don't have much to look forward to....Thanks for your support

there is always something to look forward to.....Despite our grief, we MUST push forward. How sad do you think our loved ones would be if they physically knew how much we hurt, felt sad, lost, etc... they would feel and have so much guilt and want for us to grief, and enjoy whatever time was left for us here physically. Hoping for a moment of a smile sometime iin the future. Much love and hugs carla
