Green Smiley Sunday
I probably will forget, or be to lazy to write tomorrow. It is snowing and blowing outside so I am not going very far away from the fire. My toes are toasty warm. I was going to attend a Buddhist service with our friends but am wimping out!
I am in a thoughtful mood. Not elated but not in the depths of despair either. I feel sad for those who have to brave the cold. We live near a homeless shelter and we see people, mostly men who don't like to sleep inside. I hope they are in today.
I am thankful that I have a warm, safe home - with a real fireplace. They are quickly becoming a thing of the past.
I am thankful for my friends. Last evening we went out for appies and beer with good friends. We live nearby and in walking distance to a pub that has 10 cent wings on Wednesdays and Saturdays! It was a beautiful wintery evening - no wind and the snow on the branches glistened (it has blown off now). As we were walking home, Leslie said "I know that December 1 is fast approaching (Lisa's 4th Angel Day). I know how hard it is. Last year you came over. I would love to spend it with you again. If you would rather not, I understand. It is up to you. It is your call.". I immediately teared up. I think I will spend it with them. We laugh, we cry and it is just fine. For a woman who has never had children, she is amazingly understanding and empathetic. I think Lisa must have sent her in to our lives. I am sorry that Lisa never got to meet her and her significant other, Jack.
Lisa: Thank you for good friends. I miss you always and love you forever, Mum

Your journal is beautifully written...you describe everything so well, I could imagine being there. Your friend is just that a friend...a true friend. I think being with her would be so comforting. Stay warm...love to you friend.
Warm toes!!! Thank you for sharing how blessed you are and the friends that support you!! Hugs, angela
Thank goodness for earth angels such as Leslie and Jack. I consider you to be one of mine and I do believe our children orchestrate these amazing people who come into our lives for a reason and a season as they say.
I too adore fires and we\'ve already had one and look forward to more. It was always one of the first things on our list when we were house hunting. :) I could just feel the warmth as well of yours as you described it. :)
Loving care your way dearest Marlene and oh lovely to know that Leslie is already remembering and thinking of ways to BE with you on that tender day.
Love to Lisa and to her forever mum.
