Grateful for my friends
I am so blessed to have the friends I have. I spent a lovely Shabbat at my friend Joce and we went to Chavi W and her family for lunch, and visited Dan and Mir later in the afternoon. Sat nite Joce and I watched a Tommy Lee Jones film (he is so easy on the eyes!). Sunday I went to AB to visit Izzy and Mimi. My other friends, Peg and Art were there as well. We all went to the beach, and even though it was very overcast, I and Izzy and Mimi went into the water and it was SO wonderful. Riding and jumping the waves in the ocean is amazingly therapeutic -- better than a massage!!! It was so relaxing for me. I stayed in the water for almost an hour -- my hands were all pruney when I finally got out. Our timing was perfect -- it started to rain a little as we got into the car and by the time we got back to the house it was POURING. We had a lovely lunch while it rained. I made a really good salad of peppers, corn, cukes and tomatoes with a techina dressing. We schmoozed and celebrated Peggy's big 5-oh birthday. Then we went back to the beach, this time to walk along the boardwalk. We walked the entire length of the boardwalk and back again. It was wonderful. The air was salty. It was windy and I was wearing this billow white dress that flapped around me in the wind. It was both invigorating and relaxing. I left there at just after 5 PM and made really good time getting home -- no beach traffic due to the weather. It was an almost perfect day. Perfection would have been achieved had my honey been there too. Positive news: I had a job interview on Fri morning and it went really well. They called me back on Fri afternoon to set up a second round of interviews this coming Tues. If they offer me the job, I know it will be for the right amount of money, and it does not begin until after Labor Day weekend which is perfect: it will allow me to spend more time with my kids who are flying in from Israel on Thurs and will be here through Sep 9!
